It sounds like you're suggesting that one option is to build a whole new XML parser that'll accept the invalid XML. And the answer to that is no. Just no.
I didn't say that ever. I love it when people put words into my mouth.
And I am out of this. I can't be arsed with people saying I said something I didn't.

@lucas1 then you've given the same solution as pretty much everyone else has been describing: redirect their bad XML to a custom endpoint where you massage the data somehow (how?) and then pass it on to the XML parser where it's supposed to end up.
