@e4tmyl33t Try drinking unsweet tea with a little lemon juice. If you must, you can get diet sweet tea that's sweetened with Splenda or something. Splenda is the shit, by the way. Almost indistinguishable from real sugar.

I may be talking out of my ass here, but maybe try training your taste buds? Cut out all soda, don't add sugar to your drinks, etc. Eventually carbonated water is going to taste pretty good.
I love my sweets, but I don't normally drink soda, and I don't even have sugar in the house (although we do have honey). I do drink Perrier/St. Pellegrino with some juice mixed in for taste (and sometimes plain).I have thought about trying to do that...
Then I realized "Wait, so I'd be intentionally making my life suck more by cutting out something I enjoy to try and tolerate something I don't like. I do that enough with people, why would I do it with drinks?"

Most of the time I avoid sweet food. When I have something sweetened, it's probably going to be very sweet indeed, like some honey-soaked baklava or diples.
Sorry, I'm feeling hungry for greek pastries right now…

@accalia Just the network? Are they getting lazy or something?

Oh. Nevermind. It's an old one :P
Haven't gotten there yet. I'm still back at the beginning of 2004.

That's kind of how I progressed. Soda -> sweetened iced tea -> unsweetened iced tea -> water.

@Onyx here I was expecting something brilliant :downcast:

Look, if you're going to get pedantry about this, what I'm after is ethanol...
We're out of ethanol, but we have some methanol which our chemist assures us is almost the same. Will that be OK?
I can't see it to be honest...

Because high consumption of sweetened drinks is really bad for your health?

However, this bottle does not detect the types of liquid inside the bottle. But we find that if you tell the kids that their Gululu pets only grows well with water, kids would understand.
That's weird, my kid's gululu pet grows better with Jack Daniels.

@dcon Why go to water at all? I don't know of any negative consequences for drinking unsweetened tea. It can be a good source of vitamin C, etc, and it's also much lower in caffeine than coffee.

Try filling a jug with cold water and adding things like pineapple, watermelon, mint, etc. to make it a bit less like water.
There used to be this really nice Italian place in the Koreatown district of LA (they got screwed over by the landlord since I lived there, unfortunately) that did water like that. When you ordered water, they'd bring it and pour it from a glass bottle that had cucumber slices floating inside. So you got water with a subtle cucumber flavor to it.

Too much caffeine. I limit that to 2 cups of coffee in the morning now. After cutting down the tea, I'm much less jittery.

We have that at lunch. Everyday they put in different things. Usually some mixture.

i don't know how you did that..... but i keep reading your post and the "of Coffee" in your post keeps appearing and disappearing every time i read it.
10 i read it with "coffee" and go "wait, what? coffee/tea?!"
20 then i read it and get to the end and go "wait.... i missed a word back there, let me try again"

@masonwheeler I used to drink far too much Pepsi Max and when I finally gave it up I found it very difficult to go cold turkey so the slightly sweetened water really helped me transition.

What in the hell is it with the fucking cucumber obsession? I can't avoid the damned things! Can't even buy sandwiches any more that haven't been tainted by the fucking things. I can find a sandwich without tomato, a sandwich without lettuce, a sandwich without freaking meat, but no, no sandwich without fucking cucumbers!
And no, removing them doesn't help, they leave their vile taste behind.
Fuck s! And yes, if you want to go all with this statement, go ahead, it sure is better use of them than in food!
