Which browser? I can't reproduce on Chrome 55.0.2883.87 (64-bit) on Linux, which is weird because I have seen problems with tumblr escaping before.

Can kind-of repro on Chrome whatever on Win10 x64.

It looks like some sort of Chrome rendering bug rather than a HTML one - it goes away when you scroll the entire page, scroll the onebox a bit, or look at it funny. Perhaps the <figure> element rendering fails to repaint or something like that.
