3.1(1) runs in DOSBox. Make that fullscreen and watch the fun! ;)
Also in VirtualBox. Even 2.1/286 does, and 1.02 in Parallels (I’ve not tried it in VirtualBox), if you want even more fun.

Funny, that's pretty much how MUI has looked like by default for the last quarter of a century, if you discount the fact that it had full font sensitivity in the 90s while that still seems to be a newish concept for many Windows programs
Looks like their website is a quarter century old, too.

Could be worse. After all, it could look "modern".

They should add a windows 3.1 retro theme.
Yeah, permabricking your phone (at least until the clock is > 0 in your local timezone) is definitely a wild ride!
Samsung 7 has themes. I can do that without breaking my clock.

But do you have to mess with the clock in order to set the theme?

Yeah, more useless shit that most people either ignore or turn off.
Where the fuck is my "Always on top" menu option?

What's more annoying than that?
Windows task bar deciding it's going to be truly "always on top", and not tell you why. You'll have to hunt through notifications, and when that's cleared up, you'll have to hunt through every icon in the system tray, looking for which one is triggering the taskbar to stay on top, when the programs themselves don't even indicate to you why related to the taskbar. They'll have some reason, but there's no clear indication what about it is the reason.
How does that make me respond? Certainly not by trying to figure out who wants my attention. Nope. I just start closing crap until it stops.

That actually works? Huh.

Yeah, but good luck figuring out what it is. Like I said, if there isn't a notification for it, most apps won't even let you know which thing they're worried about that's worth keeping the taskbar on top for.

You may have to close stuff that keep icons on the notification area as well.

I've found that killing (and restarting) the right explorer.exe works wonderfully. I guess the zombie flag/notifcation or something doesn't survive restarts of the taskbar's process. I haven't had that happen in a long time though, fortunately.

HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!
Neon, man! It's the future!
Now excuse me, grabbing my Soykaf and hooking into the matrix.

@loopback0 I agree. I switched to Vivaldi.

@Onyx said in Project NEON:
I switched to Vivaldi.
Vivaldi did write more than 40 operas, but he's far better known for his concertos, of which he wrote more than 500, especially the four violin concertos collectively known as le quattro stagioni, The Four Seasons.
-
@Onyx I want to like that browser, I really do, but the bug where it registers shortcuts already captured by the current page (so you hit Ctrl+B to make something bold in a WYSIWYG editor and it opens bookmarks) - that just drives me insane.
-
@blek Me, I've got the opposite gripe. It seriously bugs me when webpages hijack built-in browser key commands for their own purposes, and suddenly I try to do something completely routine and get smacked with a POLS violation. (StackOverflow's editor box registering the search hotkey as "code literal markup" is a prime offender, for example.)
-
@masonwheeler Well, yeah, I hate that too. But I have to use GDocs at work sometimes, and not being able to use common keyboard shortcuts isn't helping with the pain.
-
@blek I reported that ages ago while it was still in beta. That bug, and the inability to dock the inspector inside the main window are my main two gripes. I kinda soldier on though, let's see how long it takes before it pisses me off.
