Return of the temporary permanent DWTF article response thread!!! (the three exclamation points indicate quality)

Because the main site's forum seems to be down, I am posting a response here to the "Excellent Test" article.
As I have mentioned elsewhere, I knew a SalesFarce 'consultant' who wrote tests that passed the SFDC system's 75% coverage requirements, despite not having any assertions in them at all - a failure of both the consultant, who angrily insisted that they weren't necessary, and of the unit testing system itself, which only checked to see if a particular piece of code might be invoked during the unit test without checking whether any actual testing is being done in said unit test.
My discovering these incomplete tests, and the flap the insultant in question made over my daring to question him (I just asked him why the asserts were absent, figuring he knew some technique I didn't; he immediately took it as a personal attack), led to the discovery that he was also coding directly into the production system, without actually running the tests, adding his changed code to the development and testing servers, or informing anyone of his changes. E*Turd quietly allowed to let his firm's contract lapse a few days later, despite previously planning to renew it up to that point despite repeated complaints from the staff developers about him and his team.

Regarding the suggestion that the test in today's article was written by Douglas Adams:
Unpossible. He was supposedly pretty good at coding, in fact, though he didn't do a lot of programming, mainly in Z-code (the Infocom text-recognition compiler), which he'd mainly learned it so he could get a better understanding of the abilities and limits of the system while getting ready for the H2G2 game project (http://www.douglasadams.com/creations/infocomjava.html) so he could work with the developer, Steve Meretzky, without them getting in each others' ways.

It is great to see a topic about the main page article. Would it be possible to reactivate the bot that posted those automatically?

It often happens that to traverse an obstacle, the path requiring lowest energy is chosen. It is funny how this can be observed with simple physical systems as well as elaborate rules/requirements in human society which produce results mocking their stated purpose.

Out of curiosity, where do you see such a suggestion?

@Adynathos That's the thing, other people are indeed posting to the forum - but I haven't been able to for a few days. At first it seemed to be the forum, as no other posts appeared, but now I am thinking it is on my end.

That was a nice article! this TD seems like a good and entertaining website, I wish they had a forum too.
