They look sensible for when you are somewhere damn cold, so where's the WTF?
Remember that the original Complicator article was about heated handlebars, designed like Gaston Lagaffe would.
EDIT:
Here's an example:

@JBert
Aaaaah ... the prime example of the Belgian work ethic ...
-
@swayde as someone who's had to walk in -40C weather these would have been greatly appreciated. that and some heated boots.

'Round here, we just use regular gloves and put those hand warmer packets inside them. :D Works just as well.

But can you add trendy IoT things to it, to boost revenue? We've gotta make money somehow.

When it's -40C, you don't wear gloves, you wear mittens. Keeping your fingers together rather than isolated makes a big difference.
-
@Sumireko Hmm... I suppose you could somehow wire up a thermometer inside the gloves to transmit your hand temperature to your smartphone or something. But in that case, yeah, prolly better off with what's in the OP. heh
-
-
@Erufael I have a pair of gloves with a pocket for the hand warmer packets.
-
Those would be great motorcycle gloves if they were armored.

They post to Twitter every time a finger develops frostbite!

Review: Would not post 11th time. 0/10.

@mott555 or you could get a motorcycle that already has heated handlebars, like mine. Way more convenient. A bit more expensive than a pair of gloves, of course...
-
@Akko my first moped had one heated grip
-
@Jaloopa something seems off about that number... But then again I don't know what special breed your first moped was
-
@Akko it was the cheapest transport I could find to get me to a job so I could afford something better. There were two originally, but one was broken by the time I bought it.
Along with the speedo
And the odometer
And the fuel gauge
-
@Jaloopa funnily enough, my first motorcycle (small 125cc, 4-stroke thing) had more gauges and indicators than my current one (650cc BMW), including a fuel gauge (my BMW only has a "Reserve"-indicator light) and separate blinker indicator lights for left and right. It was inferior in every other way though XD

The Thong of the Day Thread is ... oh, never mind.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that he didn't buy the optional blinker package for his BMW

What I meant is on the dashboard, there's only one lamp indicating that the blinkers are on, but not in which direction. Obviously, that's not exactly a big problem, but sometimes I think it would be nice to have...

Technically, I didn't buy anything because I didn't buy that motorcycle myself. It also has a few nice extras, like the heated handlebars or the hazard lights. Also, the thing about BMWs not having blinkers? I think that only applies to cars ;)
-

you know that thing about facts, and jokes, right?
-
@Luhmann said in Complicators gloves exist in the wild:

nope, no idea what you're referring to. That might be because English is a second language to me, though. I don't know too many English idioms ^^. I assume it's something about facts ruining jokes?
As for the joke, I did get that. In fact, I made that "BMWs come without blinkers by default"-Joke a lot of times myself, I just like to exclude myself from it XD
-
@Akko BMWs also come with special glass that filters out all the non BMW vehicles on the road, lest you become offended by their presence...

Judging by some of the things I have seen, I rather think they come with Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Windscreens...
-
@Akko same thing: filters out things that would frighten you, in this case lesser vehicles.
-
@Arantor you have a point there XD . I'm just glad my BMW is too old to have such extravagant features

It's a dirt bike. Anything not vital to the operation of the vehicle or its street-legality was completely ignored at design-time in the interest of weight savings.
-
@mott555 Ah that does make sense. Wouldn't expect that kind of luxury on a dirt bike. My bike, however, is more of a dirty bike ;)

It shouldn't come as a surprise that he didn't buy the optional blinker package for his BMWIt costs too much. And devalues the car.

@mott555 said in Complicators gloves exist in the wild:
street-legality
Unless I'm mistaken, that is not typically a design requirement for dirt bikes.
-
@anotherusername It's actually called an "enduro" but nobody knows what that means so I typically use "dirt bike" instead, which is accurate enough because an enduro is just a street-legal dirt bike (mirrors, lights, 30 pounds worth of emissions control crap).
-
@dcon said in Complicators gloves exist in the wild:

Would that it were a car, alas! I lack the budget for a car, much less a BMW
@mott555 said in Complicators gloves exist in the wild:

Technically, mine is an enduro as well (and actually pretty much everybody I mentioned that to knew what that means), but I consider it a pretty standard street bike. Now the Dakar edition of the same bike, that one's definitely offroad capable...
