  • I dreamed that I played ARMS on the Nintendo Switch VR. Of course it wasn't like the real ARMS, because it was just a dream. It was basically a game where you bounced a ball around your field of view, and it was incredibly fun.

Then I woke up and found my high school class playing with the Switch on a giant screen, so I thought I'd give them a demonstration of the game on the Switch VR. Of course this one was more clunky because it was real and the previous one was just a dream.

  • Last night I dreamt that I walked in a light passage (not exactly a passage, because there's no walls, ceiling or floor).

As I was walking straight there, don't know where I'm going to, different animal starts to appear. Horse, dog, cat, snake, bird, etc. I didn't feel scared but still raised my arms to guard myself.

Then those animal started kissing my arms (touch my arms with their lips or beak, not biting or licking, and there's no feeling of mouth water left afterwards. There wasn't pain when "being hit with beak" either). As soon as they kissed my arms, they headed away from me.

This repeats until I woke up (There was like 100+ animals kissed me this way)

I'm not sure if it's nightmare of reality, but the build keeps falling and I'm forever at work trying to fix it...

  • I dreamed that I was the Flash, but I was stuck in superspeed, so the world was super slow and it took me decades of standing still to have a conversation, but it was OK because I disabled my brain's boredom center or something.

Incidentally, the Flash comics should focus more on the idea of "Flash sees the world moving really slow" rather than just "we see Flash moving really fast".

  • @anonymous234 does anybody really know if we all experience time at the same speed?

That's one of those "does red to me look the same as red looks to you" questions...

  • @anotherusername said in The Official Don't-Interpret-My-Dreams Thread:

    Not according to relativity.

Yet even as Scott Kelly ages faster biologically, he’ll age more slowly in physical time. The ISS orbits at about 17,000 miles (27,000 km) per hour relative to the Earth’s surface. In an effect of Albert Einstein’s special theory of relativity known as the twin paradox, that means time will pass more slowly for Scott than for his brother, to the tune of about 28 microseconds (millionths of a second) a day.

There’s a counter-effect, too: The ISS is about 250 miles up, where Earth’s gravity is slightly weaker, and where—by Einstein’s general theory of relativity—time runs slightly faster. (Stronger gravitational pull slows time down: If you saw the movie Interstellar, you may remember that each hour the crew spends on a planet near the massive gravity of a black hole seems like seven years to the crew member who stays behind out in space.) But the increase is only about three microseconds a day.

  • @MZH yeah, no... I'm not talking about relativity. I'm talking about the speed of thought.

  • I survived the hour long Uno hand

@anotherusername Definitely not then. Otherwise "fastest to the buzzer" style trivia contests would be a lot more evenly matched. Some people definitely arrive at answers faster than other people; I always leave exams faster than my classmates, because I arrive at answers faster.

Oh, yeah I know. It was just something I worried about.

I've been told I start explaining the solution before some people have understood the problem.

Status: was dreaming about solving quadratic equations using transistors, op amps, and other basic discrete components. It's apparently not as hard as it sounds, but that also means I'm just now waking up....

  • Impossible Mission Players - A

status: I dreamt I was Fluttershy, who was so distraught at being noticed only for her looks that she sought out someone to disguise her appearance. Since ponies don't typically wear clothes, naturally this meant magical alteration (though temporary).
Alterations included a coat color change, manecut, smaller butt, and longer snout.

The spell wasn't cheap, so I went around seeking employment, but failed. Eventually I came up with a ploy to get in with a local restaurant. It involved a cutting board, butter, celery, and a few other things...
Naturally it worked and I was sent back into the kitchen to be an aid.

First task was to mix up a drink, it consisted of water, salt, and I got to the point of cracking an egg into the cup when I failed and the shell went into the cup too. This upset me greatly enough that I awoke.

I can still taste the egg shells in my mouth...

Today's multi scene dream was odd.
Started out with a freak incident at a NASA testing ground, essentially an AI got transferred into biomatter and shenanigans happened.

Scene transition to space mission and more shenanigans with the AI happen, though we eh don't Musk know it's the AI.

Hard scene transition,, back on Earth apparently the freak incident wasn't isolated, a woman and her dog were phased out (or something, took a long time to figure out). She could evidently control small things like a small pile of leaves, the dog was a few sheets of newspaper (this was happening in a secure area with a pond).

Evidently more shenanigans happened. Back at my house I'm apparently building a really crude literal meat bag filled with chickens? Dunno, that scene didn't last long.

We decide to travel. At TSA screening of course they can't see her and I apparently decided to confuse things by insisting her presence. Somehow I'm not arrested and the TSA agents decide I should walk through the microwave scanner bridal style (obviously carrying her) to odd prove it. Somehow she does show on the scanners.

Then I awoke because dagnabbit I don't want to be late for work again!

  • So I dreamt to be in RPG world again. This time, I'm a cleric.

When I'm doing operation to cure some seriously injured member, I discover that there is a strange swelling on his spinal cord that from it's description, is something that related to mind control. To defuse it is easy, just pour some holy water on it, and then black smoke come out and it's dead.

Later I found something strange... first, the teams' other members now have decreasing tendency to treat him as member. There were fewer combination attack than it used to be, and the other cleric on my team won't heal him even if his HP falls in danger zone. Also, while he as a warrior will still use skill to attract attention of mobs, he no longer actively defending others on team.

And then a more disturbing thing happened... the other members of my team begin to cause "friendly fire" on him. This is a world where when you become a team member, most of the skills of other team members will not harm you. It's just like... he has been removed as member in my team.

Later, there is a group "defending objectives" event where a lot of people got injured. I take this opportunity to remove that "organ" from someone that is about to die and secretly transplant it to that warrior (who is also seriously injured again, especially the other clerics of my team is no longer paying attention to him, he was "near death" lots of time in this battle. Sometimes he barely survived because clerics on another team noticed his HP is very low and helped to heal.)

When the warrior is recovered, I told him about the recent weird situation between him and the team (without telling him about the "evil organ" that can be defused by holy water), and then asked him to temporarily leave the team and rejoin. Just as I guessed, the situation goes back to normal again.

I can't help but wonder, "Can it really be counted as normal? From objective evidence, I should have such organ implanted in myself too, but I have no memory on when did it got inside me." And the fact that it's related to mind control is disturbing to me, and I don't want to be suddenly controlled by others one day. I put it on my list of things to research on, and continue to the journey.

Sounds like a good starting chapter for a novel? 😛

I dreamt I was on the road. Except I was locomoting in the style of a gorilla, dodging traffic and the like going 50 mph. Of course I followed the traffic rules, except when behaving like a speedster motorcycle. Got lost on the way to work. Was fun.

  • Impossible Mission - B

I was driving somewhere, when I had to use the bathroom, so I pulled off at this little gas station in the middle of nowhere. I asked them where the restroom was, and they had me fill out some sort of registration form, then gave me a key and directed me to a hallway.

As I went down the hallway, it turned into a long corridor, eventually emerging into this large, club-like environment with dozens of people hanging out. It appeared to be some sort of VR club, with many of the people wearing VR headsets and getting into various virtual activities, whether it be playing games, office work, long-distance chatting, or, in a few cases, VR porn. (Everyone's activities were indicated by a sign next to them.)

I still had to pee, so I asked a few people where the bathroom was, and they tried to get me to put on a VR headset and go into a virtual world where I would find a bathroom. I thought that was completely ridiculous... and then I woke up, and had to go to the bathroom.

my dream started out normal enough. We were doing a pool party, I was chasing girls. Then it started getting weird as I realized many of the girls were cousins. Then it got horrifying as it started becoming a gore scene, so I said "peace, I'm out!".

@tsaukpaetra said in The Official Don't-Interpret-My-Dreams Thread:

Normally, you can't. I've had dreams where I ducked into the restroom every like, three or four minutes, because no matter how much waste I processed, I still felt like I had to go more.

  • Impossible Mission Players - A

@yamikuronue said in The Official Don't-Interpret-My-Dreams Thread:

    Normally, you

Ah, see, I am not normal.

Dreaming uses the same functionality as imagination, which is also the same as what provides much of my world interpretation. Because of this, dreaming for me is basically the same as experiencing in the imaginary scope, and this can (and has) bled to physical responses in the past. It's the only other explanation I have for receiving weird injuries while sleeping.

In a similar vein, striking a brick wall with bare appendages while dreaming is not recommended.

I dreamt I was in one of those jump scare games. This one I was escaping some kind of axe murderer. I was stuck in a tiled bathroom. Apparently breaking the tiles decreased my sanity. So I set about breaking all the tiles. Lo and behold the dude shows up since the bathroom door isn't locked.

  • Somewhere along the line of waking up too early this morning and dozing off and on until my alarm went off (one of the cats in particular tries to get me out of bed so that I'll feed them; at least I'm pretty sure that most of that was real and not dreams) I dreamed a couple of times that my wife had gotten home in the middle of the night and was in bed beside me (she's visiting out-of-state relatives / helping them unpack from a move). When I finally was getting up I wasn't really sure how much of what I remembered was dreams and how much of it actually happened, but the parts where my wife was in bed were definitely dreams.

  • Impossible Mission Players - A

I dreamt I was a secret agent. Got mission details via a laptop from the 90s running Windows 95. Went through training. Started an assassination mission, we were driving an eighteen Wheeler. Some other goons found us. We evaded. Got to the target. Bouncers turned us away. Some chick wanted me to translate something in Spanish. Apparently I'm fluent. We fall in love. I train her to fight. Her daughters learn too. The trailer is added on to become a house. She finds out I'm a spy. It's too late, I finish the mission. They set the trailer ablaze. She fights me. I offer little resistance. Eventually she tires and I take her into the cabin of the truck. I drive away from the destruction.

  • In the last few days, I've dreamed

I dreamt I was teaching re-sending rescuing laughter from thieves. It was stolen by goblins or something, being contained in Campbell's soup cans.

  • Impossible Mission - B

I dreamed I was back in high school, but one day I discovered there was a video arcade right across the street. It was a lot of fun, and a few times I'd come up with totally lame excuses to cut class and go play over there. Then one time, my brother ran into me there. He was like, "hey, what are you doing here? You're supposed to be in class!" And I said, "so are you! What are you doing here?" He didn't have any good answer to that, so I walked off and started looking for some of my favorite games, but they were all gone, replaced by really lame ones. And then I woke up.

  • Most of my dreams seem to involve being trapped in some sort of strange world. Generally a dream, which makes sense I guess.

This night I dreamed I was trapped in a VR world. Also I was Batman.

Then I was in some sort of long prison (basically a corridor), which had a bunch of plants inside, practically a jungle, with a bunch of other people, where we kinda lived "in the wild". I managed to escape by finding an emergency exit. Outside I learned that our "tribe" was just grown in case someone needed compatible organs. The rest was exploring some sort of dystopic London while trying not to attract any attention.

  • Almost forgot, the previous night's dream was a good one

It started with me realizing I was dreaming, and deciding to use the opportunity and my dream powers to visit the Harry Potter universe, although in retrospect the rest of the dream was nothing at all like it, but you know dreams.

I found myself in a giant cave, in which there were three enormous stone doors. It looked very much like something you'd find in the TLoTR universe, but it felt more real to me at that moment that any movie or book, so it was pretty breathtaking.

I walked to the middle door and opened it by knocking on the floor twice with my wooden staff (definitely a Gandalf inspired moment). Walking through it I found myself in the campus of a wizarding college, with groups of people walking around and even professors giving outdoors lectures. It looked like a nice place. Sadly I don't remember much else about that part.

Next part I was in an old wizard village, in some sort of market or fair right next to a big lake. Lots of stands showing or selling stuff, lots of magical flying, sparkling and exploding things. Looks were pretty reminiscent of the "old chinese town" style you see in movies.

I kept walking. Suddenly, there were just rows and rows of bus seats, planted in the middle of the street, with lots of people sitting on them, apparently just waiting. I figured it was some sort of magical transportation method, so I sat on one too. Sure enough, the world suddenly started to move, although it was less moving and more like everything was stretching away.

I was still in "harrypotterland", but now it was a modern looking town. The seats were now actually rolling down the street on some rails. I don't really remember the next part, but I confessed that I was a muggle and becames some sort of local celebrity. Also, having stored conversations with muggles in your phone was forbidden because it caused cell phones to appear nearby.

You know that kaledescope filter where something you're looking at ends up being rotated around a central point? and how if you only get the top half of a person in it, it looks like they have 6 or 8 top halves coming out of one bottom half?

The other day I dreamed my husband looked like that, and he was trying to touch me, and I didn't want him to touch me because he looked like some weird mutant. My screams woke up the whole house.

    So there's that.

Impossible Mission A on the brain?

  • I was visiting a medieval castle, which was entirely furnished as it was supposed to have been in the middle ages (exact time period unspecified...). In one room, there was a throne which was separated from the rest of the room by some kind of low wooden balustrade. I went in that enclosure and as I closed the door behind me I knew that I was suddenly back in time in the real middle ages! Well, there were no special effect to indicate the time travel, nor any other obvious clue and somehow the "me" that was acting in the dream didn't know for sure whereas the "me" that was watching the dream knew but... yeah, it kind of made sense at the time.

I then wandered in the castle, without seeing anyone which was both a bit weird and reassuring, since I wasn't sure how I would be interacting with real medieval people. Like, what if I meet the lord and fail to greet him properly? Or someone spots my weird (21st century) clothing and I suddenly got tried for heresy (somehow, that was the immediate and only possible consequence of someone noticing my weirdness...)? Overall, it was quite nice and I was rather curious to see how things really were in the middle ages vs. the reconstitutions that we see now.

Then things took a very sharp turn into an horror film as I walked into a room where there were at least half a dozen bloody corpse (or just the heads? can't remember). I'm not quite sure what happened from that point until the scream that woke me (and my wife) up...

We did visit a medieval castle last week-end, and while the castle itself was a ruin, there was a medieval fair in the grounds around, so I guess this is where the setting of the dream comes from.
