Meh. I know how to mow and trim with a weed eater. As for the lawn though, I don't really care what it looks like. Some people fertilize and put down weed preventer, etc. I don't care enough to. I just want the dirt covered and if I fertilized I would have to mow more often.
The only plants that I really care about are the veggies in the garden. My wife does all the flowers, etc.

The last place I lived, my neighbor was one of those lawn-worshipping types. If I mowed the common section between our houses out front, it'd've probably annoyed him, because it would leave that section a different height from the rest of his lawn.

I guess I'm lucky. The upstairs neighbor is incredibly loud (loud music with high-wattage subs and constant stomping) 24 hours a day when he's home, but that only a couple days a month for some reason. The only arguably crazy neighbors I have are a nice old couple that go out every day and talk to the squirrels.

It's my turn to be a jerk neighbor!
So my pickup truck is a 2004 Silverado 2500HD, with the LB7 Duramax engine. For those of you not into diesel pickups, the LB7 has a well-deserved reputation for bad fuel injectors. I replaced all mine two years ago, did it myself, and it still cost $3000 in parts and took three and a half days to do.
Now, two years later, one of my injectors is reading bad in my OBD-II scanner. Hell if I'm taking a few days off to rip it all apart myself to replace one injector, and hell if I'm paying a mechanic thousands of dollars to do it for me. So I'm trying the official GM injector cleaning procedure, which involves disconnecting the fuel tank and running hoses to a container with a mix of 1/2 gallon diesel fuel and 16 ounces of ACDelco X66P concentrated cleaner, then idling the truck until the container runs out.
Long story short, all my apartment neighbors get to listen to my diesel pickup idle for the next 1.5 - 2.0 hours.
Yay me!
EDIT: Wow, it's been running for 15 minutes and that injector is already reading much better. It was about 4.5 - 5.0, now it's at 2.0. It's considered good if it's within plus or minus 4.0.
FINAL EDIT: No dice, it went back up to 4.5 - 6.0 once I switched back to straight diesel and drove it around. At least it's positive, if it was that far negative it means the injector is way overfiring and possibly stuck open which can cause bad things like melted pistons. Positive means it's plugged and the ECU is having trouble getting it to squirt enough fuel out. So I guess I'm temporarily running my V8 as a V7.5.

I think they mean good if it's in the range [-4.0, 4.0]. Or (-4.0, 4.0) — I'm never sure if people are being inclusive or exclusive in normal language.

Update time.
Yesterday, we had a friend visiting. Parking is quite tight, so she parked as close up to the fence as she could, right behind my car. It makes it a bit of a squeeze for the neighbours to get out, but it's doable. It would also have been pretty easy for the neighbour to text me or my wife and ask up to get the car out of the way while she turned round. Or even come to our door and ask.
No.
What she did was manage to get past, then when she was safely away (this woman is nothing if not a coward), send my wife a text saying if we blocked her in again she'd "take a hammer to your fucking car".
We considered this a credible threat, so phoned the police and arranged for them to come round and talk to us and the neighbour this morning.
Crazy neighbour was evidently stewing about the horrible inconvenience of reversing her car a bit, because we could very much hear it when she got home. Crash bang, slamming doors etc. While I was putting the baby back to sleep, my wife decided to try the old glass against the wall trick to see what was going on and picked up a few things from the argument going on next door.
She doesn't want her life dictated by us (my wife is the one who times going out for when the neighbour is gone to minimise the chances of seeing her).
She's going to "fucking kill" my wife.
My baby is a "little cunt" with a stupid name.
She's going to report us to the council for not walking our dogs as often as she thinks is necessary.This was all last night, before the police came round so she didn't know we'd done anything. This was all based on her anger about not being able to turn around.

@Polygeekery You'll no doubt be overjoyed to learn that I live in a quiet little dead-end street and all my neighbors are lovely people.
We all get on well enough that I have no qualms about sharing my nice Internet connection with them and happily providing neighborhood IT support at well below my usual rate. We borrow each other's stuff, the kids all get on well and we look after each other's pets when we're away. The guy across the road from me is a cop. The biker who lives on the highway corner has large dogs that bare their teeth and bark at people who don't know them, though the eight year old girl across the street from them is regularly in their yard romping with them. None of us locks our doors or our cars. And we've gone 50/50 on fence replacements without any stress whatsoever.
I couldn't have found better neighbors if I'd picked them all by hand.

The other week we found out that almost everybody at our street has issues with the same family. We met neighbors from a bit further away and we where united over the simple fact that we all had bumped heads with the same family. They seem nice enough, helpfully even. Maybe a bit gossipy but at first nothing terrible. Until you find out that their gossip is at Breibhart/Huffington Post (scratch your preference) level. There was a time we even hung out, drinking a glass in the gardens but they where ... overwhelming, engulfing. Injecting themselves unwanted into our family matters. Even mundane stuff like fucking housekeeping chores and gardening. Even worse ... the woman of the couple is cheating on her husband and she tries to use my girlfriend as an excuse, for like "Girls night out". My girlfriend is totally not amused when she starts to notice this and blows here off a couple of times. That made the neighbor lash out and say all nasty stuff.

After some nasty messages back and forth I literally told them in to kiss my ass (kus m'n kloten for people learning Dutch). We cut off all ties and ignored them completely.
Their direct neighbors (our neighbors across the street) have been in a smoldering war for some time. She deliberately plays loud music around the children's bed time. The incident that united us was that they had blocked their car by parking right in frond and behind. My girlfriend noticed it and took some pictures sending them over to the neighbors across the street to let them know their car was blocked. Before the cops arrive the bad apples quickly moved one of their cars to their driveway.
At first the cops where seemingly going to brush it off until our 'friendly' neighbor started talking back. The cops where not amused because both cars appeared to have been partially on the sidewalk during their blocking action and told them that there was proof of them illegally parking and blocking an other car.
Next day someone is dropping off some kids at the house across the street, parking partially on the Our 'friendly' neighbor decides to take pictures of her own and call the cops. In her hurry she fails to notice she is taking pictures of an off duty soldier with the soldier, kids and car clearly identifiable. The soldier just waits patently until the cops show up. The cops are even less amused then the night before and tell her to remove the pictures and to stop calling the cops for incorrectly parked cars when her own car is parked illegally.

We bought one of them a few months back, but it didn't seem to do anything. The dogs aren't actually all that bad at the moment, although there is the occasional day when they don't seem to shut up for hours at a time.
Everything had been frosty but civil for a few months. She even commiserated me on my cat dying, but this car thing shows that she was still a seething ball of rage waiting for the chance to erupt.

@Dreikin yeah. Based on skimming that PDF, it looks like the fence needs to be "legal and sufficient". So if your neighbor wants a fence and you don't, you have to pay for half of the cost of a "legal and sufficient" fence, not necessarily whatever extravagant thing they dreamt up.

Probably depends on whether local law accounted for that, and whether the relevant courts have made an exception for it. Neither may happen, I suspect, because it'd be viewed the same as obligations on upkeep of a house - required to be done, regardless of ability to pay. I didn't notice, on a quick skim, anything providing that exception in the Minnesota law example I posted.
