Mobile devices, logging out and unresponsive
-
So we are all well aware of phantom downvotes caused by scrolling on mobile devices.
I am getting rather tired of accidentally logging out or switching to desktop mode while scrolling down to my notifications.
Why the eff are these rarely used options literally in the middle?
The entire Profile category should probably reside south of notifications and chat.

Clearly the NodeBB UX testers are all left handed.

Done that a couple of times. The first time, it took forever to figure out what happened and how to fix it.

I haven't done that (Edit: yet). That would be really annoying, as I don't yet have my password database on my phone, so I have to open it on a computer, make the password visible, then try to type the long string of random characters on my phone keyboard — not fun.

Maybe @boomzilla can move that from the profile menu to the settings page?
-
@NedFodder Probably. That stuff is all in the browser (because you probably want your phone to be different from your multimonitor desktop). The key is finding a place in the existing UI where we can inject the menu items or whatever UI.
-
@boomzilla Can you create all the UI elements you need on the settings page with the plugin, then get/store the actual values with JS on the client?
-
@NedFodder Shit, that sounds like work.
-
@NedFodder Really, the settings are fine grouped as they are, it's just that the entire group is in the wrong place.
Moving unresponsive still won't prevent inadvertent logouts.
The super dumb hack solution would be to put "are you sure" prompts guarding the dangerous options, but it's still crap UX.

Ah, you must be on the default theme then...

Crap UX added!
@ben_lubar, for the next time you're doing updates...

Hey, we should be allowed to call ourselves at least that!
