What about an implant shocking something in your brain to improve memory?

I read an article some time ago about how neurons are really inefficient, and some day we'll probably be able to make electronic equivalents that are 100x smaller and faster, thus making superintelligence a reality by simply copying the human brain, even if we haven't figured out AI yet (and possibly dooming humanity to a billion years of slavery at the hands of the first immortal, superintelligent global dictator, but you have to take some risks).
This is a nice start.

@groo something like this could probably be really useful for those times when my wife thinks I'm not paying attention. Give her the remote for it (remove the batteries first though).
