Status thread borked?

I am unable to load the status thread on my phone. Site just sits and spins.

Everything else works fine.

@Weng disk cache goes out the door when you read the entire database sequentially.

Unless they put that on disk, thereby defeating the point of having a cache.

And wtf kind of database system lets backups saturate out real transactions?

I must be too Enterprisey to be able to wrap my head around software at this level.

And perhaps most horrifyingly, why in the hell would the status thread require more disk activity than any other thread? It isn't scanning the whole fucking thing on every disk hit, is it!?
