@Gąska I LOVE LONG INVOLVED DISCUSSIONS OF XML KEEP GOING THIS IS SO ENTERTAINING!
If you hit Ignore instead of posting that, you'd be ignoring this thread right now and you wouldn't be getting this @ notification from it.

@anotherusername inb4 rant about receiving unwanted help

If I still had my Palm in working order I'd up a pic of that, but alas it disappeared some time ago...

Back then, I was too young to be interested in the file format used in game cinematics.
That logo was freaking everywhere. You couldn't start any game without seeing it. Did you not play games when you were young?
-
if you've got to stitch together conflicting dependencies too.
I bet threading could
FTFYmake that worse!
-
@Gąska Seems like using multiple compilation units (perhaps one for each DLL) and then simply having static function definitions that are wrapped by external functions would be relatively easy, but I've never tried.

Aww, c'mon, he hasn't managed to start a good flamewar in a while. You know that's gotta be causing him constipation or something.

Maybe. Probably. I don't remember. And there's a huge difference between seeing logo and knowing the video file format used by the game (if you don't know beforehand that Bink specializes in video codecs for games - and as 10yo, I didn't).

I think you're looking for a different word than compilation units. Because the libraries would conflict at link-time.

I was mostly just doing it to give him a notification. I know how much it pisses off @blakeyrat when he gets notifications, and he invited it by posting something that I could reply to. And nobody else had...
-
@anotherusername Is this some sort of OCD, perhaps?
-
Because the libraries would conflict at link-time.
No, because each compilation unit would dynamically link to a different library with GetProcAddress.

So, folks, we need to find an anonymised named for my place. WtfCorp is taken, Wtf Ltd seems too close to WtfCorp.
Suggestions?

Given England, wouldn't WTFshire make more sense?
Only if you're talking about some sort of government. I'm sure that there's suitable candidates there, but @Arantor doesn't work for them. Also they wouldn't ever be listed on the stock market, just as WtfU won't ever be there.
-
@Arantor WTFSoft Inc. and WTFSoft Germany GmbH & Co. KG are already reserved for my stories, should I ever decide to write them down. ;)

Denied, too short for a German company name.
Que? Since when do German companies have to have long names?
-
@asdf
Since they are German! Everything needs long words in German.
-
@Luhmann The German that says "Ja" is not the true German. The true German says "jawohl" at the least, and "jasturmpanzerdeutchlandkrankenwagenwohl" when it's important.
-
@Arantor Microsoft has a whole list of fake companies:

Contoso is the standby, but I'm partial to Blue Yonder Airlines.
-
The sad part is that I already know the ideal name but it's not quite anonymised enough :(
Though WTFaaS seems doable and sufficiently anonymised.
@blakeyrat interesting, though wouldn't want to conflate my with MSFT...
-
@blakeyrat No love for Alfreds Futterkiste?
