Poll: do you miss polls in NodeBB?

[poll]
- Yes, polls are great
- No, polls suck
- Just use strawpoll.me or something.
- What's the point of polls when the site is down all the time?

No, what's the point of polls if the only voted entry is always FILE_NOT_FOUND or something similar.
-
Bug report: I'm clicking on poll, but nothing is happening.

N
(Polls in most forums are actually a kind of )

- FILE_NOT_FOUND

Seriously though: is there any easy way we could get strawpoll (or an equivalent site) to embed in the forum?

@anonymous234 strawpoll uses web sockets, so probably could.
-
There is a plugin: https://www.npmjs.com/package/nodebb-plugin-poll
I have not tested it or really investigated it much. There's a discussion thread here: https://community.nodebb.org/topic/1549/nodebb-plugin-poll-poll-plugin
-
@anonymous234 is on the right track, I think. If the onebox plugin would embed the poll it'd work just fine.
-
@boomzilla It was:
- broken in some serious way I can't remember
- only available for the OP of a topic
-
On some Dutch forums when people post polls, they use [http://poll.dezeserver.nl/](this script). All it does is render an image showing actual poll status, and it renders some links for people to vote.
On the plus side:
- It's easy to use
- No server side dependencies
On the down side:
- Votes aren't tracked by user, but by IP instead
- Can't change a poll after it's been created
- It gives BBCode, so to use it here the links have to be changed to Markdown
- The website is in Dutch :D

Hoezo is dat een nadeel?

I suspect this would not be welcome here.
