Blakeyrat's Kerbal Campaign, why not

@blakeyrat they all load for me, but they take some time/scrolling, are half of them not loading at all for you?

The images load, but they're all inside links, and some of the links are no worky. Look:

(leaving all of the <a> nodes collapsed for brevity's sake; suffice it to say that they all have an <img> inside)
    0_1461618997872_Untitled.png

Those href attributes should all be the /uploads/files/... URLs for the pictures, but some of them are about:blank.

  • Discourse touched me in a no-no place

@blakeyrat said in Blakeyrat's Kerbal Campaign, why not:

the mass of shitheads who hang around this forum waiting for me to post a topic so they could then ruin it

Have you considered getting your paranoia formally diagnosed, so you can get treatment?

  • @anotherusername I think those are updated as you scroll, might be a javascript error that prevents them from being updated.

@AyGeePlus I think it's a great idea, but may be too much work for him. Also, his style is more fluid than a blog would allow.

What? It's a blog, not a sonnet. There's no standards bureau.

  • @AyGeePlus Here's the thing: I have no problem with people replying to the topic. I enjoy it. That's what I want to have happen, thus the usage of a forum in the first place.

My issue is with people who don't reply to the topic, but instead start their own topic inside of mine. Thus making it impossible for me and other people who might be enjoying the actual topic (like @xaade in this case) to follow along.

And even there, ok. So it happened in the first non-me post. I let it slide, no biggie. Then it happened a second time. Then a third time. Then people start replying to the third time, and at that point I fucking gave up. I was patient, I was understanding. And yes the mods eventually got around to splitting those posts out of here, but I don't want using this forum to be a constant fight of me nagging the mods to do things. I shouldn't have to, nor should the mods have to.

The "new topic" button is free. It doesn't cost like $50. You can press it whenever. DO SO. Instead of just starting your new topic in the middle of someone else's.

Anyway, the thing about the image uploads not working was just the icing on the cake of my frustration.

  • @blakeyrat but you yourself said that the first non-me post was more or less fine. The person who posted that couldn't have known at the time whether it'd become a big enough subtopic to need its own thread or not. So later on if it does you just ask a mod to jeff it. Also no biggie. It's their job.

No I did not say it was fine, I said I ignored it.

Like if a 5 year old hits you, well, the first time maybe it's an accident, he's a little kid, you know, still learning motor control or whatever, don't say anything. But the THIRD time the kid hits you, then you grab his hand and drag him over to his parents and say, "hey, uh. Kid's hitting me, dickwads."

  • @blakeyrat meanwhile, here in the real world, topic drift is a thing, and hindsight is usually the best place to decide whether there was enough drifting to actually justify moving it to its own thread.

  • @blakeyrat come-on, create a blakeyforum somewhere so we can read your content without you killing things too early because of other people actions.

@blakeyrat meanwhile, here in the real world, topic drift is a thing,

I'm not talking about topic drift. Despite what everyone here seems to think, I'm perfectly ok with that.

I'm talking about people starting a whole new and unrelated topic inside my topic.

Please, if you're trying to understand what I'm saying here, please stop putting words in my mouth. If you didn't understand something I said, simply ask clarifying questions. This is the second time in two posts you've tried to make it appear as if I am saying something I never said.

The topic is: I am going to start a new Kerbal campaign, here's some screenshots of it. The first non-me post is, "oh the patch is finally out I'm going to do a mission where I land and refuel on Minmus, do a Jool transfer etc etc etc." It had NOTHING to do with the topic. Scroll up and look.

That's the kind of thing I'm referring to.

  • Hey, I finally fixed my problem with string lookups in Fallout4.

It was the full dialog interface mod.

    Updating it helped.

I'm going to go build a new settlement now.
