Scroll Anchoring in Chrome 50
-
I don't remember seeing this in Chrome 49:
@julianlam I wonder if there is a way to detect if this flag is enabled and not do the viewport pushing code...
EDIT: https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2016/04/scroll-anchoring?hl=en the FAQ says it should not affect JavaScript fixes, I guess we will see.
-
Hm, if anyone enables the flag, could you tell me what happens when you scroll up from this post? I am getting some weird behavior. EDIT: disabling the flag fixes the issues, enabling the flag causes the weird behavior again. Seems to be a conflict between NodeBB and the new flag.

Lots and lots of jellypotatoing when that flag is enabled, making the forums completely unusable.
-
@LB_ s'weird - I don't have that option in Chrome Version 50.0.2661.75 m

Are you definitely looking in the right place? It's a flag in the
chrome://flags/
page rather than a proper option in the Settings menu.
-
@Choonster Ah - roger that, and can confirm weird bouncing when it's enabled.

You mean my jellypotato fix got fixed by Google, but two fixes don't make a better fix? Drat.
If we could detect the flag, then yes, would be more than happy to sidestep that code if enabled.

I tried the Chrome 50 thing yesterday, and any scrolling on any NodeBB page with that flag enabled just sends me directly to the bottom of the page. Needs work, Google.
