Why are mentions smaller than normal body text?

It's not really obvious at 100%, but if you zoom it becomes more pronounced.

in theme iddle @ben_lubar it takes up space
around things for reasons of mnemonitcs?Who knows? Maybe it's just ignorant of the theme and was set to an arbitrary value?

They aren't. Inspection reveals that they're inheriting
font-size: 14px;
frombody
. Including the computed style.Mentions are different... they're very slightly smaller. They have a
font-size: .9em;
style and the computed style is12.6px
