WTF was that?!
-
Whole damn forum was down for like an hour with SSL errors. @PJH, someone needs to not kick the server ... o_O
-
-
@LB_ mongo"DB" and node JS
I am shocked, SHOCKED there are problems
-
@Vaire Beats the hell out of postgresql and ruby.
-
You mention them in one sentence like they're both the problem.

Great RDBMS.

ruby
Toxic hellstew that calls itself a scripting language. Add incompetent developers for a guaranteed disaster.
-
@Vaire lets drop all this "forum" bullshit and switch to a git repos.
need to create a new discussion ? git add "some-filename-as-title"
want to add a comment ? add it to the file and commit.We could use github, no more paying for hosting.
Bonus : Just imagine the Blakeyrant that would follow !
If only I was joking
-
@boomzilla If by that you mean literally, "beats to death", then I agree ;)
-
@TimeBandit I weep for
humanityour industry
We are forever doomed to this shit.

We Windows users did have a problem at our company. Existing branch "X1". Someone created "x1". Windows users are fucked. (until "x1" was deleted)

Since it would require blakey to post the rant using git I don't think there would be one :(.

Can we just try sticking all this crap in a
JSONB
column and see what happens? :P
-
@darkmatter said in WTF was that?!:
isn't Oracle.

@darkmatter said in WTF was that?!:
if by great, you mean: isn't Oracle.
Out of curiosity: What exactly do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

-
@boomzilla I was semi-serious. You're just taking a piss.
-
@asdf The only Postgres dbs I've ever worked with had absolute garbage performance.
-
-
@Jaloopa ESL, brainfart and a lack of proofreading. It should've been "the", of course.
-
@Onyx I like it, it's kind of funny. I'm imagining @boomzilla at a urinal posting while sniggering to himself
-
@Jaloopa And people laughed at me when I showed up to work in the big galoshes!
-
@Jaloopa upgrade that to "cackling" and you've got yourself a trailer for a summer blockbuster.
-
@darkmatter Ah, yeah, the old COUNT issue. No idea if it's actually gotten better (as your links claim) since the only application I'm currently using Postgres for doesn't run a single COUNT query. Also, apart from exact counts, I don't recall Postgres ever being particularly slow.
