[s]No longer possible to update user card and profile backgrounds?[/s] RaceProUK is a big silly and wouldn't mind this thread being closed :blush:

    The image upload succeeds, but then everything just... stops; the image doesn't get updated.

  • I eventually managed with the profile background, but not with the user card. Hang on; I'll try again.

  • Test...

    NO_REPRO. Just updated the user card background without issue.

  • No, it works. It just takes a while. I think, if you look closely at the image, it has been converted into tiny letter avatars served from their CDN server. That way, if you need to scale the image, you just change the size of each letter.

  • SockDev

    I am using fairly large images... Eh, I'll just leave the tab open while I go get lunch.

  • SockDev

    Hmm... still not done... and the tab's been open a few hours now...

  • Maybe just pick a smaller image?

  • SockDev

    That did the trick :smile:

  • Shocker :laughing:

    I wonder if it tries the image downsize shit on those images too.

    Yeah, it does. Via imagemagick running on a CDN manually controlled by Jeff who has to accept each image that passes though in case, y'know, it's not civilized enough.

    Except it fucks up if you use a black and white avatar that's too black and white.

    If it's black and white then it's racist so Jeff's right to throw it away.

    I :heart: Jeff. <!-- not! -->

  • I was wondering if there was something up with avatar loading as I was getting this same thing just now. Looks like I'm the problem, trying to use too big an image. Not discourse at all for telling me bugger all. Nope.
