Top 10 Contributor Club

  • I was surprised to see, with the recent updates to the site, that I am a 'top 10' contributor. I find this hard to believe, as it seems that all I do is post smart-alec responses now and again. Plus, I have actually changed my username since I first joined.

I noticed a that Alex, of course, and ammoQ have a lot more posts, and are top 10 by a wide margin. I am curious as to the 7 or so others, and if they still frequent the site. If so, post here... I am curious.

It says that I am a "top 25 contributor".

But I bet I make the "top 1 most hated contributor".

    Right ammoQ?

No, though some of your posts are a bit controversial. But you are currently not, like other people before you, at the "please go away and never come back" level.

  • where does it show these things.  That's silly.

  • Oh, man, I have a long way to go.  Maybe someday I'll have all blue bars going across under my avatar.

  • Is there some sort of secret to getting lots of posts?

Like writing useless posts that have no meaning?

    Like this one?

  • The secret really is replying to all the useless posts. ;)

  • The real secret is to be rather unchallenged in a job full of WTFs. BTW, this is my 2000th post, so it seems to work.

I have to say that I racked up most of my posts after my boss quit his job as CEO of the company I worked for. That made the physical address of corporate headquarters jump to another state. Now, I was offered the opportunity to work remotely - and there were days I wished to God I had done it - but said boss actually gave me a raise and a job at his first business (same physical address). However, all I did was help people choose the correct folder to click on in Outlook (yes, some of it was that bad - good people, though). That left me with a lot of time to 'research' TheDailyWTF, Slashdot, digg, etc.

Now I have a new job that is purely development, and have no time at all during the work day to visit TheDailyWTF. It's at the top of my list when I get home, though. I can't say that for Slashdot & digg, although they're very good sites too.
