going offline for so long that servercooties.com itself crashed because it didn't know how to handle the site being offline for over an hour straight?
no that's not normal...

Feature request: if everything is offline, change the text from "TRWTF Is Discourse" to "TRWTF is DigitalOcean"
Also requested: replace 15s+ with "timeout"
Also noted: servercooties.com is almost as much fun as WTDWTF when WTDWTF is offline.

Is there something that can be monitored as a clue to that? Ping time or something? Are there any static objects you can time the request time to?
-
Ping would indicate that either the IP stack isn't responding or that DigitalOcean's network is down.

Personally, I'd be happy if they just changed the vertical axes to be sensible. Half the time Discourse can't even get its shit straight after it's been asked. Negative response times are completely unattainable, at least in this universe.

In this one yes, but not in the Discoverse.

In the Discoverse, it can read everyone's minds. How else would it be able to know the for everything?
