I think he's trying to take the feminist position here and claim that RSM's...well, whatever, you can fill in your own adjectives and nouns. cisnormative heterofascist etc.

How about "whiny bitch"? Does that work? I couldn't get through the whole thing. I hope it's an act or the article was a joke I didn't get or something, because if that's him for realz... He's fucked up.

Are you some sort of PUA apologist?

Either admit that PUAs have nothing to apologize for, or admit that you're in the SJW camp.

I'll admit that I'm in the troll camp. Nevertheless, wrong meaning. However, since I'm also in the pendant camp, I'll present the correct meaning of the word:

    a·pol·o·gist
    əˈpäləjəst/
    noun
    plural noun: apologists
a person who offers an argument in defense of something controversial.
"an enthusiastic apologist for fascism in the 1920s"
synonyms: defender, supporter, upholder, advocate, proponent, exponent, propagandist, champion, campaigner; informalcheerleader
    "one of Eisenhower's better-known apologists"

I have no reason to suspect that @Lorne_Kates is an enthusiastic apologist for fascism in the 1920s, but I wouldn't be surprised to read some posts contraindicating that statement.

Don't you hate it when you take a bird out the speakeasy, spend some dough on enough giggle water to get your hands between that flapper's gams, only to find out the dame ain't a dame but a fellow what thinks he's a dame. I tell ya, the only Cox that should be anywhere is the one what should be in the White House, not this damn balled up cripple Wilson. It's cause of him letting the filthy Irish run amok that's got me reaching for a clam and finding a first-full of beef. Horsefeathers!

  • ♿ (Parody)

Hah! A supporter of 1920s fascism would also support Wilson!

Who died in 1921, so probably wouldn't be talking about him in the present tense!

And is Van der Graaf Generator an obscure band, really?

yes it is. even among self-called "music nerds"

Aw come on, at least they have a Wikipedia page.

I know prog bands that I'm pretty sure nobody in a hundred mile radius listens to (though, unlike a true hipster, I wish they did). Next time you'll tell me bloody King Crimson is some indie gig.

yeah, i know obscure local bands too. ITIM obscure bands only hardcore music nerds know

  • For prog rock they fall into the known category, most definitely.

  • Local to you, maybe. They're quite "worldwide" for me. As far as local bands go, I can torture you till the end of the day.

Mind explaining what's "fucked up" about that?

You know more about the guy than I do, so if I'm missing some context that caused me to misread the article let me know.

In no particular order, until I run out of time or don't want to subject myself to that arseclown article any longer:

His biggest problem with these fools seems to be that they're giving feminists ammo, not that their behaviour is terrible but that they documented that poor behaviour publically, against their interests and his own. That he believes he shares interests with these clowns is disturbing too.

He seems to think there's some kind of war going on between men and women (or maybe just the wrong kinds of feminist) and these guys are giving away strategies (for "success". In what?) to the enemy. He's a afraid that women who don't submit to the "chastity, motherhood, etc" bullshit might win this imagined war.

He seems to believe all women should submit to the "modesty, marriage, family, etc" thing, yet doesn't see how somebody forced into such a role might see it as a form of slavery.

His bit about "all women this, most women that" is the whiniest little bitch bit I've ever seen. "Oh noes, those nasty women, they never treat me right!". Maybe because you're a giant sexist douchebag?

Even by using the word "sodomy" he gives himself away, but somebody who thinks anal sex is created by porn in the '90s is an ignorant arseclown. Or that no woman enjoys it. Or that only men with a porn problem like it. Basically he's pretty hung up on anal sex for a guy who thinks it's a perversion.

Stopping now because I don't want to read further, got better things to waste my time on.

EDIT: Forgot to add he used the term "heteronormative patriarchy" in a non-ironic manner. Also not to criticise it but to support it? Not sure how to reconcile that with his criticism of the dehumanisation aspect of the PUAs. Does he fully believe women can simultaneously be suppressed and not dehumanised, just because he's doing it?

To be fair to you, yes, you're missing context. That line of argument is a joke. He has written extensively against casual sex / hookup culture / etc.

Yes. Over the last year or two he's been doing a deep dive into feminist literature. Basically the sorts of things that are used as textbooks in women's studies programs at universities. They most definitely have declared a war on men. The full force of their vitriol doesn't filter outside of that context too much, but it's there, and people call you crazy if you quote these people. Which he actually did.

I don't know what you think "modesty, marriage, family" means but his version certainly doesn't involve any sort of slavery.

    @another_sam said:

This is rather vague...a quick skim found this, which doesn't seem whiny at all:

And if we take the median ages as reflecting a general preference, most women prefer to marry a guy about two years older than themselves.

You're free to disagree on this point. I'm sure a lot of people do these days.

You need to get your sarcasm detector checked. It's definitely not working today.
