Internets Radio software reccomendations?

I'd like to start my own Internet radio station this Halloween. Any recommendations for broadcast software? I've access to both a Windows and a Linux server, though I'm more likely to use the Linux one. I'd love to be able to just shove a bunch of mp3s into it. Would be great to be able to schedule semi-regular station-identifications, and recurring programming (like playing a radio drama at midnight and noon).

I have heard recommendations for BUTT aka "Broadcast Using This Tool"...
Now I want to start an Internet radio, if only to be able to tell hundreds of people they're now listening to my BUTT.
More on topic, this stuff seems popular, but I'm not an expert at all. Win8-compatible, though.
