The new posts link is really freaking hard to trigger on a touch screen

This is a corollary to my other problem - the new or updated topic link is basically impossible to trigger on a touch screen.

My suggestion, aim for the top half of the blue bar and you'll more likely hit it than the first topic link.
That's what I have to do on iPad and my Android phone.
