Caught this will doing TaxCut ... you know what it made me say ...
Simple Pay
Simple Pay gives you the option of paying your e-filing fees without having to use a credit card. </FONT>
For a $11.95 fee, HSBC Bank USA, National Association ("HSBC") will receive your federal income tax refund in an account you open with HSBC, pay TaxCut your applicable e-filing fees, and deposit the balance of your federal refund into the bank account you designate.
Some how this is simpler than paying by CC?

All I can figure is that they are so amazed at the number of idiots
who'll pay $16 to make handling their return more convenient for the
IRS, that they want to see if they've got some extra-stupid customers
out there.
I suppose it might be another "feature" for those deadbeats who can't qualify for a credit card.
It won't be long before they'll offer to bring your refund (-$49.95
delivery fee, - 10% handling charge, - 30 days interest at 475% APR) to
you within 48 hours.

Well, it CAN be a whole lot simpler than the CC option for those who
have a bank account but no credit card and, um, less than optimal
credit....

But, anyone who has any sort of bank accont gets a debit card that works like a credit card.
Maybe its an option for the slightly paranoid?

Hell, when I get my refund check, I just go down to Joe Bob's Dew Drop
Inn ("Liquor in the front, Poker in the rear"), and cash it right at
the bar. Well, beer it is more like it.
