Topics that start unlisted may never show as new
-
Noticed this just now from today's article topic (http://what.thedailywtf.com/t/limit-as-sense-approaches-zeno/8333/49).
I have the preference setting Consider topics new when set to the default value of created in the last 2 days. When a topic like the one linked starts its life as unlisted for 3 days, it never shows up in the topic list as a new topic, potentially causing me to miss article topics.

So it behaves properly? Not sure what the bug complaint is other than "don't make article topic so far ahead of listing".

as designed, but you can change that..... ;-)

I have it set to "I haven't viewed them yet", but I still find it annoying that every so often I have to go to a special new tab and look for new topics, otherwise they'll remain completely invisible to the rest of Discoeurs.

Sort of. Technically, I guess, but the process of unlisting / listing is presumably there to enable you to pre-create stuff. Well, knowing discodevs, probably not, but it's an obvious use case for the feature.

I think it is more of a hiding thing (I seem to remember there being some talk about unlisting bugs that were dangerous on meta.d as a use case as well as some that thought unlisting at all was a bug) than a prep for later exposure; but I totally agree with this:

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
