Is this the best/worst name for a car ever?

    Introducing the Ferrari LaFerrari FXXK

So named I guess because, when you plant the throttle and unleash all 1036bhp, you scream 'FXXK'

  • Sometimes it's a fine line between Best and Worst.

hmmm.... i do like cars with massive torque.... so many different ways for that to be used and abused.... for many different purposes ;-)

  • Grade A Premium Asshole

Who cares about the name? It is freaking sexy.

  • I don't know about you but
fuck!
is exactly what I would say if I ever saw this car IRL.

  • It looks like a crazy Hotwheels car I might have had as a kid.

Oh, that! Sorry, I thought you were thinking about... something else entirely :stuck_out_tongue:

well there is that too... ;-)

  • To complete the onebox (which seemed to flash briefly and then disappeared. @discoursebot):

This is unsurprising as Pajero in Latin American Spanish is a common term of abuse, usually translated as wanker or tosser.
And there's also the Toyota MR2 which in French is pronounced like "emmerdeur" (pain in the ass).

You'd think a French company would realize that.

Would it be better or worse if they did?

If they highlighted it, kind of like Buckley's "Tastes like shit, but it works" self-defecatingdeprecating style, I think it'd be great.

They just call for support and get some spike strips or a road block set up. They don't have keep up with you. Keeping up is the job of air support.

  • SockDev

    .... oh.

    right.....

    air support.

    I'll be good ossifer.

hmmm... that looks suspiciously like one of those Dubai police cars.... i should still be good. they'll need to get airlifted or take a boat to get over here to catch me. that should give me plenty of lead.

    Good point.

Then again, someone could make a police version of this:

A product of your very own Unites States of Thingywotsit

  • SockDev

nah... not enough room in there to mount a pair of GAU-8's

    for peaceful purposes of course!

that woudl destroy the areodymanics surely?

not to mention make the car far too topheavy to perform well in cornering.

No American car is good at cornering, so that's not a problem :stuck_out_tongue:

    "desiel?"

To do real damage, you need a compressed-air-comb-valve-type speaker, like the ones they use to test electronic components on rockets. Those suckers can pump out 160 decibels no problem. (I guess the air compressor could be powered by diesel, though.)

IIRC they got theirs to do about 160DB at something like 20Hz

they made a 6 foot speaker cone and connected it straight to the drive shaft.

all they had for songs they could play were "first gear", "second gear", "third gear", etc.

looked violent as all hell too..
