The great Polish Sea from Raymond Chen's blog



  • I thought this was a funny wtf, I never noticed it before but my Time Zones tab is missing Poland. Time zones are difficult enough without having them changing.

    That timezone map has caused trouble before.  A couple pixels representing Kashmir in a "does not belong to either country" color managed to get both India and Pakistan so frenzied that Windows was, as I recall, banned in some places.

    Considering the ephemeral nature of political boundaries and timezone policies, it's probably not wise to base a UI on them.
     



  • At least they did not split up the Polish territory between Germany and Russia in the map. Imagine the political consequences...

    As for the original link, I was laughing out loud at Raymond's reply to the first guy's comment. Some people shock me when they manage to remember to breathe each day.
