When is a face not a face
-
It seems Google's facial recognition discriminates against Sonic characters:
OK, obviously is not my face, but it's still a face, Chaos-damn-it!
-
No it's not.
-
-
Any software that detected a distorted comic character like Sonic would scare me. Think of all the hundred other things it would detect as "faces".
-
It would make for some funny articles on Fridays though...
-
good enough for @accalia that face is.

I think it's the "one big wide eye" that's the problem...
I suppose if they fix it, that will appeal to '80's era Cyclons...
... and probably make it easier on people who wear cowls and masks. Like Batman and Robin.

[TODO: link to that feminist tumblr that has a shitfit over unrealistic bodies in comics]

Best face recognition fail:
Server Error in Application "ODDEENEW"
Internet Information Services 7.5
Error Summary
HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found
The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. That's a fail, but I wouldn't call it a face recognition fail.
-
It's hotlink protection done really weirdly.
Basically, if there's aReferrer:
, it 404s. Enter the URL manually though (well, C&P), and it loads properly.
-
Very appropriate for TDWTF.
And the picture is funny, too.
-
What ever you do, Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT search google images for "no face man"
-
Best face recognition fail:
Next time some woman says "my eyes are up here" you can say "my camera disagrees."
-
good enough for @accalia that face is.
Why would you blur out your company when you've provided enough information to find your account?
-
because i can and now you have to work a bit to find out that info?
-
Or you wanted to obscure the truth:
-
or that. :-D
-
You're a funny guy, Sal. Maybe I'll kill you last.
Suggesting @accalia is really behind this bastardy of software is actually about as offensive as Belgium.
-
as offensive as â– â– â– â– â– â– â– .
as offensive as what? a â– ? is then more offensive then?
-
I like how the emoji for "black large square" isn't black, large or square.

The smaller large-black-square is at least black and squarish.

That would be because it is no emoji

I see that the bad word filter is as effective as one would expect.

Of course it is. This is, of course, a problem anyone who's ever spent time with other forum software would be completely familiar with and it can degenerate into ever more ridiculous levels of inanity in trying to firefight.
In Jeff's world this would be cause for showing me the door because Doing It Wrong, etc. and being counter to the community spirit.

I see your black large square and raise you an eight-pointed black star:

...you win.
