The voicemail from the bermuda triangle?

  • SockDev

got another spam call, sent it to voice mail as they often have a hard time getting through to my voicemail on account of having caller verification turned on in google voice.

was surprised when i actually got a voicemail from the call.

Was even more surprised at what the voicemail was!

normally google voice's speach to text is a bit weird, but you can usually get the gist of the message before listening to it.

    so i listened to it.....

`Call from *pause* To accept press one, to send to voicemail press 2`

... the voicemail is my side of the conversation where google voice was calling me to ask me if i wanted to accept the spam call!

i nearly snarfed my tea all across my keyboard when i listened to that!

I thought this was about speech-to-text being TRWTF (Sprint's service, which you get free for 30 days or whatever, is really, really bad) but the payoff was so much better than I expected.

Well at least you didn't Snarfer it, that would have been really annoying.

    My prefered call screening:

I've yet to meet an autodialer that can get past that! :-D
