Search override?

Anybody have the time/will/desire to create the following?
Hijack discosearch to point at a google query string that's basically
site:TDWTF Terms=(data in textbox)
Together, we can fix discosearch by the exact same method they use to break it!
... or something.

Doubtful. I'm sure the discoforum isn't as google awesome as the old CS one yet. And google still doesn't get to right to the exact post.

That's because google doesn't see what we see. Until google can see what we see - or a paging/infiniscroll map matrix is in place - there is no chance that a google search will be able to take you to where you want to go.

So, I just went and tooled around a little with js disabled to see what google sees. And they didn't do something that seems obvious and google searcher friendly. They use ?page=2 for page navigation. Instead of putting the first post of the page there. Which would get you close to the result, since google would take you there.
But I guess that would have been too easy.

If they were smart, they'd serve the Google view up 1 post at a time. Then, the Google result would take people directly to the correct post. And it's not like the Google crawler robot gives a shit about having to hit "next" all the time.
That would increase load on the site when Google was hitting it though.

You're expecting too much from Jeff and company.
it would also remove context from google's searching.
the posts around a post affect the search ranking.
