Unread messages for muted topic
-
Still issues with the unread messages for muted topics. So I have the 'high unread count' topic muted. The unread button at the top says one unread. That is right. If I click it shows me the topic with one unread in about being as slow as a dead dog. Still everything is well.
I still have a '1 new or updated topic' message. If I click it the topic list refreshes, the message is removed but nothing else happens. BECAUSE there are no other new messages except for the topic I muted with a fucking reason.

yeah, sorry about that. we're trying to repro a bug using that topic but it requires a high number of unread posts... which means we need to make a lot of posts.
on the plus side we've repro'd a different bug in the process... that's good right?

horray! a cookie!
thanks!
(seriously though, sorry it's annoying. it should be over soon, we're almost at the post count we need.)

sorry it's annoying.
Don't sweat it. I muted the topic and that should have if it wasn't for DISCOURSE!

AFAIK the only way to not have topics show up in the "all categories" lists (latest, new, unread) is to mute the whole category.
Just another point where muting is Discoursistent, because muting topics works one way, muting categories works another, different, way.

either way we've stopped the bots now that the topic has reached sufficient length for @matches to test his bug in.

I don't mind the topic to sit in the topic list. I mind the fake message: 'there are unread posts or new posts. click here'. Clicking reloads the topic lists where the muted topic is handled correctly and no new post indicator is shown. There is somewhere where they don't filter the muted topics out of the notification.

I mind the fake message
Oh, yes, that's what I hate too. But that message will show up as long as that topic can show in the list, so the only way to stop it is make it so the topic won't show in the list.
And right now, the only way to do that is muting the category.
they don't filter the muted topics out of the notification.
They don't, that's the real problem.

Working through notifications then testing it.
