Not receiving any e-mails (again)

I haven't received any e-mails from Discourse in weeks (at least not on the address this account is tied to - for some reason I still get digests on the address I registered temporarily during the beta testing; it's on the same server as my primary e-mail, so it's not a server problem).

@apapadimoulis can you log in to mandrill and see if you exceeded the 10k free email count. I think you are going to need to be on a paid email plan.

10k or 100k? Because I'm pretty sure I received more than 10k e-mails before they stopped arriving.

The free Mandrill account is 12k emails a month https://www.mandrill.com/pricing/

pretty sure we exceed this here.

Why do e-mails go through Mandrill anyway? It caused problems before.

Well, I did get notice for this over email…

We ran out of free plan a long time ago, so it’s currently periodically billing.

But just logged in and checked lmandrill too, and seems like plenty of emails are going out.

OK so I looked up your email on Mandrill, you're not receiving email because you're on the Rejection Blacklist for a "soft bounce" on Aug 17 (smtp;421 4.7.0 mail.konto.si Error: too many errors).

I'm going to click the REMOVE button. So, you should get them again soon.

Yup, started getting e-mail again.

Is there a list of the IP ranges mandrill uses, so that I can whitelist it? I'm seeing some wildly different IPs, and since each individual message has a unique sender, the policy service isn't automatically whitelisting any of them.

I’m not really sure; you’d need to look that up.

I do know the “various IP / sender” thing increases delivery overall.

Whitelisting by IP is generally not recommended since Mandrill's shared IPs may change without notice, and the recipient would be whitelisting all mail from Mandrill. If whitelisting by IP is the only option, the recipient domain will want to check for the most up-to-date IP information in the TXT record for spf.mandrillapp.com
