I've actually paid for and watched this. It's great.

Great strategy actually. Those CVs with several languages and 5+ years of IT experience are what you need to look for if you want someone who really stays with your positions in gardening, carpentry or nuclear waste disposal instead of dreaming of starting a satisfying and lucrative career as a fullstack developer.

Always keep a safe distance from train tracks

@Gern_Blaanston In NL, outside of stations and level crossings, railway areas are almost always delineated by a sound barrier, steep embankment, or ditch. Being on the wrong side of said delineation is an offense punishable by a €140 fine.

I don’t see how fineing people too stupid to stay out of the area helps. If anything, signs encouraging people to stand on the tracks is better long term solution.
-
@DogsB Usually it's people thinking they can use the inspection path as a shortcut.
-
@DogsB There are fine people on both sides

Not for the train engineers...

To be honest, they’ll probably be happy enact a trolley problem.

A kick in the butt is more effective.

@dkf I'm not sure who you're insulting with this comparison, but I'm fine either way.

So many headlines are improved by appending the word "again".

I have recently added my TV to my gaming computer monitors. It's utterly retarded and registers as a monitor even when it's turned off so my mouse can be fucking off on a 4K display off to the side. I commonly use a signal color for the mouse pointer because I got annoyed by it not being visible at one time or another on that computer.
-
@Benjamin-Hall I am in this post, and I do not like it, although the advantages of large, hi-res monitors outweigh the disadvantage of losing the cursor.

Just tighten up your mouse sensitivity settings and then you won't loose the cursor any more

Switch to Displayport. That'll fuck 'er.
-
And then, when you turn off your monitor, Windows will go "Oh! A monitor has been unplugged. Time to rearrange all the desktop icons!".

@Zerosquare said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:
all the desktop icons
The what?
I haven't used desktop icons for ages, because when there is a maximized window over them most of the time, it's not actually a convenient location for anything. I used to use tray icons instead.
Plugging/unplugging a monitor still does make the screen go blank for a second for me (on the work notebook) as windows considers whether it needs to shuffle any windows around.
-
@Zerosquare
that one is one you for using desktop icons

+1 Using swaywm it's literally 100% of the time.
I never understood people who use desktop icons with "wallpapers". The worst is family photos. Like do you really want to have that picture of your kid etched into your memory with an Excel document stuck on their forehead because you looked at it for years whenever your motivation level wasn't even enough to browse TDWTF let alone do any work?

I rarely use the entire ultrawide screen estate when not vidya. Might as well be something easy on the eyes

I don't think having a picture of a naked woman for wallpaper is a good idea on a work computer
-
@TimeBandit Surely it depends on where you work?
