SMF WTF (AND SOMETHING TO MAKE THE TITLE LESS INVALID)

This is what happens when people read shitty blog posts denouncing using jQuery at all and proceed to forget the reasons stated why and the alternate solutions. Web hipsters, they do it because they are confused.
Oh you have no idea. Said person has rewritten the same add-on she wrote over and over at least 4 times to make it conform to whichever design pattern she'd read about this week. And when I tried to encourage her to go with what works for it... that was a mistake.

Also, no, jQuery is not included which means it's doing everything itself, including AJAX by hand, heck it even includes an attempt at a WYSIWTF editor which is where quite a few KBs of the JS code came from.
No jQuery or anything js at all? Well, that also explains 10k lines of js.
If you're already loading it every page, you might as well actually make use of it having done so.
Yes, it is pretty humorous to see the jQuery include followed by javascript code that doesdocument.getElementById("id");

Most of the original JS predated jQuery Hell, I think there might even still be traces of the original loading-content-in-hidden-frames-for-IE-4 code for when even AJAX wasn't an option.
Everyone gotta love software that doesn't periodically clean house.
You can begin to understand why I get so frustrated with these people, and with myself for either not being strong enough to beat them over the head enough times (and withstand their bullshit) or not being strong enough to move on.

As opposed to SO answers advocating the use of jQuery to calculate 1+1.

It is fun watching as @chubertdev makes his way down this topic, occasionally liking things I posted.

Don't hate just because I'm the only person here who has likes left to give.

I'm not out of likes, I'm just at the apathy stage
