Highlighting Text
-
So I actually do like Discourse, and I'm glad I'm getting the opportunity to try it out. I've been considering it for a project.
There is one usability "feature" I really really don't like. I often select text when I'm reading a web page -- especially long pages -- so that I don't lose my place. And also to lower the contrast between the text and background. Having the "quote text" button pop up is killing me.

See your preferences.
"Enable quote reply for highlighted text"

Okay, but how do I quote with that option disabled?
-
There is a quote button in the composer (top left), so you would start replying and hit it. Granted, usability suffers.

Okay, sounds good. Thanks!

That button is absent on mobile, and the quote popup appears beneath the select/copy context menu. It makes quoting very challenging on iPhone.

Hmmm this is a good point, the quote reply pref should be respected on mobile too.
