#1 On Google!

  • ♿ (Parody)

This probably won't last too long, but as of a little bit ago, this here site is #1 on Goolge for "wtf".

Ahhh, yes ... just immagine the dissapointment of the "regular people" who happen to query for WTF and come across The Daily WTF. It's probably right up there with their disapointment of finding the World Taekwondo Federation as #2.

  • #2 now... We can all help with this though! Every reader who owns a site should link to thedailywtf with the link text 'WTF', like this:

       WTF

and maybe another link with expanded acronym. It'll soon be stuck firmly at #1!

  • Wait, so this isn't the World Taekwondo Federation site? No wonder none of it has been making any sense to me!

The real WTF is that this isn't the WTF, etc. etc. repeat tedious joke ad nauseum....

IMO, the "World Taekwondo Federation" is a poor choice for a name, if you are a serious organization, you make the best effort so the abbreviation or acronym of your organization's name doesn't look like a joke. Breaking TaeKwonDo into three words would do the work.

This is like choosing "PEE" for the name of your organization.

What? OMG is Object Management Group? what the fuffle?

    =P

Indeed. They should have known back in 1973 that their name would come to mean something else twenty years later ...

The World Taekwondo Federation was established at the inaugural meeting held at the Kukkiwon with participation of 35 representatives from the world. Dr. Un Yong KIM was elected President for a four-year term.

why would my favorite two things that could possibly come up under that query being at the top be dissapointing :D

WTF TKD = olympic style and much better than what is taught most places in the USA (International Tae Kwon Do Federation style)

As it seems I didn't lay the sarcasm thick enough, even when I contradicted myself two paragraphs later... (OMG was founded in 1989)

  • WHIP! was the name of the activex application now referred to as DWF Viewer. It has been around since roughly 1994 so quite a few design & engineering firms have linked to it. You can see the latest incarnation here http://dwfit.com/index.aspx
