This summer, get wet!!! [VIDEO] [SPA] [SFW]

  • While reading today's post discussion this TV spot, which has been running for 3 months by now in Spain, was on and for some reason I thought it would fit with it.

    YouTube

And don't worry about it being in Spanish.

    Transcript translation :

    • Tampax has never been so easy to be placed correctly. (While inserting a Tampax on the guy's fist)
    • This way you feel nothing. (Guy smiles)
    • This summer, get wet!!! (While coming out of the pool)

Yes, getting wet has the same two meanings in English and Spain's Spanish.

  • Winner of the 2016 Presidential Election

They could have used the extra meaning of caliente in Spanish (not sure about Spain's Spanish).

  • When I saw the title of this thread I thought maybe you were referring to this new movie:

"When a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, thousands of sharks terrorize
the waterlogged populace. And when the high-speed winds form tornadoes
in the desert, nature’s deadliest killer rules water, land, and air."

  • I didn't know tampons were so cumbersome that they might require an insertion tool for some women.

But I kind of don't use them, so what do I know?

For some men too. If you don't understand what I mean, think about Ben L going to prison.

  • You "kind of don't use them"?

Does that mean you sort of do?

I suppose he could be doing something with them, but I don't really want to think about how or why he would try to.

Well. When you said "insertion tool", my first thought was something like this:

Mind if I ask where in Spain it has the same second meaning as in English? Just to know because I've never thought that it could have that meaning (Apart from that I agree the spot is quite silly...)

I think I still prefer the Russian advert[SFW].

Past experience makes me lean towards the former.

Oblivious. I had no idea I could turn off those fucking popups. Of course, I hardly ever use Youtube and try not to look at the awful UI much.

Shockingly, outside of a handful of western nations, women are still treated pretty shittily. The woman in that ad is just lucky she doesn't live in a Muslim country where they'd stone her vagina for spewing blood as an affront to Allah or something.

That's no way to talk about the Religion of Peace.

You think real life religions are fucked up? How about a religion designed specifically for that purpose?

  • Sorry for the bump, but here's an extra place where you can turn off YouTube annotations:

    https://www.youtube.com/account_playback

There's also an option to "Always play HD on fullscreen (when available)", which is cool.

Reviewing your YouTube account settings is a good idea too, I think.

Are you retarded? The horror is that google may just randomly chose to connect different profiles and online personas that you didn't ask them to. That's not a good thing.

For example, I have two different gmail accounts. One is my personal email for games and forums like this. The other is my professional email that I use for job interviews and such. I really, really don't want the two associated with each other, and for good reason.

Are you incapable of reading comprehension? It says nothing about merging accounts. IF SOMEONE HAS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THEIR ADDRESS BOOK, GOOGLE IS PERMITTED TO SHOW THEM YOUR GOOGLE+ PAGE. That's all it fucking says.

  • @Ben L. said:

    Actually it says "we may
replace past names associated with your Google Account so that you are
represented consistently across all our services."
My email account has my real name. My YouTube account doesn't, dispite their insistent attempts.

Until now they've been nice and have been asking me whether I'd like to use my real name on YouTube, but their policy means they don't actually have to. In fact, they could go the other way around and use my YouTube alias as my email name. They're not stupid, but they could. (never mind that I didn't even want to link my YouTube account to my Google account in the first place)

They also imply that spammers that somehow manage to guess or otherwise steal my email address can have access to my real name and photo. And if you think your email address is under your full control, then you have another thing coming: I've lost count of how many times other people have shared my address without my consent; and how many times idiots have forwarded me irrelvant emails with my address lumped together with a large number of unBCCed addresses of people I've never heard of.

    [various valid points]

Expecting an objective discussion about Google with Ben L. is TRWTF.

Ben L. is so deeply invested emotionally with Google that cognitive dissonance prevents him from seeing how idiotic Google can be. The only way to help him would be to hire someone like this guy.

Indeed they can, all you have to do is enter any email address into the Google+ search bar and their G+ profile (if they have any) immediately pops up. Works great with those people who believe they stay anonymous if all you have is their gmail address.
