The real reason why I hate sprocs

Yes, "part 48". Of more than 48, courtesy of
sPart_17_1
,s_Part_17_2
, etc. I'm too lazy to anonymize it all, but all the parts are similar, and at the end they get concatenated andEXECUTE IMMEDIATE

Oooo, that's a nice collection of WTFs.
If this is typical for the entire codebase, then I do not envy you.
-
And the problem is the fact that it's a sproc and not, you know, that your database was designed by a monkey?
-
gonna agree with blakey here. the problem isn't that that is a stored procedure, it's that it is a stored procedure designed and coded by Hannibal Lecter

... oh wait. That doesn't work.
-
So, does he show them the code to distract them and then tries to eat them?
-
As Maciej can attest, yes that's exactly what he does.
I think so far Maciej is outrunning Hannibal, but he's bound to have lost at least one coworker to the cannibal.
... oh wow. they really did not try to hide that pun very well, and it still took me all this time to twig to it?

More like Brick from Brick!
Off-topic: this movie title was translated to Polish as "Who killed her?".
-
"Jaws" was translated into "Shark".
-
"The White Shark" one country further west.
-
For once, we didn't get shafted on that translation.
Didn't stop them from translating "Double Team" to "Dream Team". And I do mean "Dream Team". They translated it back to English!
The idiocy doesn't stop there of course, but I always found that one particularly interesting.
-
Double Team
If I google-translate Polish title of this movie to English, I get Marvel comics. But nothing beat "Dirty Dancing" -> "Spinning Sex".

But nothing beat "Dirty Dancing" -> "Spinning Sex".
"Die Hard" -> "The Glass Trap" and "The Hangover" -> "The Vegas Hangover" (for a pun) are also pretty nice. The latter one is especially hilarious, when the second part came out and they apparently panicked, because we got "The Vegas Hangover in Bangkok".
-
Don't forget "Airplane!" -> "Is there a pilot in the plane?"
-
I can't imagine a movie like Brick is even slightly approachable by someone who has no cultural knowledge of American 1940's detective/gangster films.
Unless they just rewrote all the dialog.
