From that cesspit 4chan: school laptop WTFery

See this Imgur gallery. Bureaucracy, RATs, officials spying on webcams like they're 14 year old script kiddies on hackforums...

Couldn't they find a table to photograph tiny print outs of the screenshots of tiny plain text on?

You can click them to make them less tiny.Still, the whole 'using webcams to spy on students' thing was blown wide open some time ago anyway, IIRC.

But seriously, this "posting screenshots of plain text" bullshit is going too far.

Blake Robbins is the one that springs to my mind.

And in the natural progression of things, I fully expect Youtube Videos of Screenshots of Plain Text next (has to be after the current fad of posting 10 minute videos that could be consumed in a minute or so of reading.)

That's my current pet peeve, too. Wanted to try the FaceTrackNoIr for Elite:Dangerous and was tempted to pull my hair out after one of those Youtube tutorials explained to me how to download the installer.
The amount of waffling in those videos is astounding and I'm usually ready to shoot the guy after one minute, tops.

THIS (which I'm lazy to properly quote due to Discurse, nested quotes, and dickery).
I remember the time when a GIF was a few frames of a banana airhumping... whatever.
These days? A 400MB monstrosity. Upload a fucking video at that point, ffs!

double click any word in post -> Reply ->
</>
-> highlight -> copy -> paste/replace word from first stepThat really too onerous?
-
I had to manually add in your quote to the nesting, including just the right amount of empty lines
-
-
But... I would have to recreate all the tags and shit because they will be escaped and...
Sagan damnit, I wrote the initial implementation of this shit and now I keep forgetting I have it!

Speaking of cesspits: this thread!

That's been my workaround. But you have to admit, all it lacks is a wooden table...

It's better than copy/pasting
s|/t/[^/]*/|/raw/
|g` into the browser address bar on a separate tab, which was our only option previously....

Actual sentence I heard a few nights ago: "I uploaded a gif into my post and it stopped being a gif. It turned into an image" >.>

Seems like you guys are mastering the famed reshoot technique. Keep going, you might discover some aliens along the way.

Par for the course for imageboards, it's part of the culture. It's common knowledge that if you want to keep some text around forever [from 4chan], screenshot it before it gets 404d.

screenshotcopy it to a text document, or justwget
it before it gets 404d.FTFY
Yes, I know, asking a lot from a species that pastes screenshots into Word documents, but I though copying and pasting stuff is pretty common, no?
-
I thought of that reaction, and have prepared a counterpoint.
RULES:
- No direct links to 4chan.org (404 pages).
- All posts must be related to 4chan.org: either a screenshot of or image with a direct relationship to 4chan.
-
That is not a counterpoint, that's a way of reducing my faith in humanity even more. I didn't think it would go any lower, so thank you for that experiment.
