Alumin(i)um
Puh-lease!
To achieve the signal proof quality we use unique fabric (pure silver)
What did you think it is, some tinfoil hat?
-
-
Not as good as the cat ear headphones so no but if they had a balaclava...
-
No equivalent item to protect, say, testicles, or is the brain the only thing adversely affected by electromagnetic radiation...
Say, a Bobby Ball Bag. (That's going to be about as SFW as you think it is. Wait until you're home.)
-
Our hat is not the improved version of "tin foil hat".
They even flat out mention the tin foil hat, geez.

FAQ's,
Is there some evidence that signals are harmful?
We are not saying that it's proved or we should be scared. There is no official evidence that signals cause something. You know, asbestos wasn`t dangerous before and after some period all buildings were taken down. Just google it or check it on youtube there are plenty of documentaries which are dealing with this topic.

Now, now, @onyx... it cannot be proved that the people on that Kickstarter page actually speak English. After all, they might have just done passed their write up through Google Translate and slapped it into the source codes. You can't blame them if their tool breaked their well written prose.

You know, asbestos wasn`t dangerous before and after some period all buildings were taken down. I have no way to independently verify that.

Uh no. That's wrong.
What you meant to say was:
You know, asbestos wasn`t seen as dangerous before and after some period
allmost buildings with significant levels of asbestos were taken down or dealt with in another fashion. It was still dangerous. Hillariously, that weakens your point. So. Yeah.
Anyways, yeah, this is stupid.
Maybe I can start a rumor that
$manufacturing_component
in these is poisonous and causesAutismDementia or something. That would be fun. Evil, but fun.On the other hand, I could probably just get 4chan to do that. Like with the whole "microwave your iPhone thing"
-
I think maybe those hats scare me. You never know what's under there...

No, but I can reasonably guess.
One (1) head. Assorted hair/hair products.
Anything else is
-
Err, joke not intended. But I'll take it.
-
If they can put it in a microwave with a metal spoon inside and not have anything explode, I'll be impressed. I just don't see how a tinfoil hat can protect you against microwaves, which they seem to have renamed "electromagnetic smaug".
-
Well I think a Faraday Cage would work fine for that. Of course I doubt that they can make a working one in a hat, but if they can... Well... Good for them?
-
Can you put a Faraday cage inside a microwave? Wouldn't the cage itself still be affected by the microwave's explodey-metal-magic?
-
Oh yeah, you stipulated not having anything explode. Uh, yeah it would probably arc pretty impressively.
Sounds like a job for (literally) !!SCIENCE!!. Anyone have a spare microwave to donate to the cause?
-
Disclaimer: I'm not an EM field guy. I just know enough to
get by withget RF burns from my ham radio and CAP radio equipment
-
sorry, no faraday cage in a microwave. but have this:

I'm not sure putting a tuned cavity on your head is the best plan, they should make a bag version you can get inside like some Orthodox Jews do. With proper sealing that would provide the wideband attenuation they want.
MIT found resonance effects inside tinfoil hats located very nicely in the WiFi bands
I'm sure they'll sell a lot to people who have no idea how RF works but are scared of it anyway...
-
Of course I doubt that they can make a working one in a hat, but if they can... Well... Good for them?
It's impossible for the frequencies they're talking about. Radiation will just diffract around the edges of the hat at those wavelengths as the average diameter of a head is about 18cm:
