Snipping Tool can go fuck itself, too.

I hope you didn't send it like that, you misspelled the typo. They might not be able to figure out what's wrong.

I don't know why really, but this was much funnier than the error, and I don't even know why you are pissed at Snipping Tool.

and I don't even know why you are pissed at Snipping Tool.
Its context menu is showing translucently.
EDIT: might have misremembered.

Ah. I think this is why they added the "Delay" function in the Windows 10 version. I always have to cancel the snip (leaving it open), then press Ctrl+PrtScn so I can be sure it's not there in the capture.

It took the screenshot about 2 frames before the menu closing animation ended, you can see the blue box where the selected menu item was.
At work when I need screenshots, I always get them to chip in for a copy of SnagIt. Here I just print screen and crop later. Snipping Tool is a shit for many reasons, not just this one.

Greenshot works very well and is free.
I use Windows.
It has this feature where I can push a key and it saves a screenshot to the clipboard.
-
Sure, and Greenshot will hook into that and let you control exactly what happens to the screenshot when you take it - copy to clipboard, open in image editor, save as file with templated name, save as file with dialog, print. You can also choose whether or not to capture the mouse cursor, and set a delay before capture.
The inbuilt Windows screen capture stuff is quite bare-bones; Greenshot makes it much more useful.
-
Dropbox has a "feature" where it will fuck up the edges of any Windows screenshot you take unless you disable it.
-
Yeah, the Dropbox screen capture thing is just annoying. It fights with Greenshot, too; it's a crapshoot which of them ends up bound to the PrtSc key if you leave them both on, and if Dropbox wins, Greenshot will whine about it.
Easily turned off though.
-
I only ever take multiple screenshots without using them between if I'm playing a game, so I just use Steam for that.
-
Same here.
Print Screen then pasting into Paint works well enough for the few times need a screenshot on Windows otherwise.
-
FWIW I've never had a problem with snipping tool in rectangle mode. No faded tooltips, no weird BS or anything. Although I do miss the feature from the Windows 7 version where it would launch into the "take a new screenshot" mode instead of popping up the window and making you click the new screenshot button.

Print Screen then pasting into Paint.net works well enough for the few times need a screenshot on Windows otherwise.

just reply with quote
SO A QUOTE IS NOT DESCRIPTIVE AND ALL CAPS IS NOT DESCRIPTIVE BUT A QUOTE AND ALL CAPS MAGICALLY CREATE CONTENT
