You might have heard of otherkin, people who "identify" as something other than human, but this person takes the concept 10 levels further.
They claim to be "a DID system", consisting of no less than 11 personalities, each with their own pronouns, gender, sexuality and, huh, peculiarities. Give it a read:
- Matilda (Tilly) - 14 years old, genderqueer, lesbian, fae/faer/faers pronouns. Tilly is bubbly, excitable, strong-willed, and filled with a flair for the dramatic. Fae’s from Boston and identifies as faekin.
- Clint - Age-slides from around 8 years old to 23, nonbinary, queer, ny/nym/nys pronouns. Clinton Francis Barton, aka Hawkeye, most closely associated with the Matt Fraction comics.
And it doesn't look like a troll account to me, You can read the posts if you want, they seem to be mostly "cis people suck".

How do you separate those two concepts in this case? It seems like their whole existence is to either troll people, or confirm Poe's Law.
If it looks like a troll, walks like a troll and talks like a troll...it's a troll.

identifies as faekin.
This would be a pretty good pun on the part about DID, but there's no way this person is self-aware enough for that.

"a DID system"
We underwent The Great Merge some time ago, technically "curing" this "problem".
So, instead of having multiple distinct/unique personalities, all modules now inherit from the combined base of all the legacy personalities. Don't ask me, even I don't know how it really works, and I can't exactly ask myself due to Censor.

can't say i've read a profile like that before. very confusing.

Maybe she's like that Geth AI character in Mass Effect 2, where the one body contains like 100 distinct intelligences.

one thousand one hundred and eighty three, actually
and yes i did know that without looking it up, but since i know you'll want confirmation here's a quote and link for you.
Legion is the name taken by the gestalt consciousness formed by 1,183 geth programs inhabiting a unique geth "mobile platform".

It's a troll account or a RL troll. Too coherent to be an actual crazy person.
I remember my wife's paternal grandmother. She had multiple personalities. After she'd lost the ability to speak (she'd gone through several strokes and heart attacks) you could totally see it in her expressions and stuff, but it had been there before. She'd been abused as a kid, cheated on as a wife, etc. I remember, in addition to her, uh...normal....personality, there was a little kid, probably about 4 years old and a protector (as there supposedly often is) who would get very nasty.
Crazy.

It reads more like the character profiles for some sort of fanfiction than an actual About
MeUs page. O_o

Maybe this would be interesting back in the eighties when everyone was still mindblown about the split personality stuff. These days, if you aren't getting amnesia during bouts, you won't even get a diagnosis.
Tldr multiple personalities are 1-5% of the population, and like 10-50% of the internet.

i agree with that sentiment. sounds a bit like a rpg character list.
-
Including one based on a religious figure, one based on a pop culture icon, and two who are dating. Not sure how any of that could possibly work with DID.
Also, "fictionkin" is a new one for me. Which is extremely impressive.
-
It might just be a DID roleplay?
it's a weird overlap between a DID system and "otherkin" anyway.
I dunno where this trend comes from to see pathologies everywhere and to label all the things, where really there is nothing "wrong" (or different) with people and they just think creatively and have a powerful imagination.
It's like the ultimate expression of insecurity. "I am part of this group, that group, that group and that one too. Please don't question anything, talking about it is offensive. Please put a trigger warning."
-

The otherkin stuff kind of gave that away, didn't it?
-
There is a whole lot of people like that out there. Whole communities. It's odd, but whatever, they don't seem to be hurting anything.

Multiple personalities don't exist.
These days, if you aren't getting amnesia during bouts, you won't even get a diagnosis.
Amnesia in the form portrayed in TV shows almost certainly doesn't exist.
-
You don't exist.

Not anymore (for me) at least!
Now, a "personality" is just a link to the original executable with a different name.
