Demented sense of warp drive = Early sign of Shatner

"An increasingly warped sense of humour could be an early warning sign of impending dementia, say UK experts. "

This forum is going to be really interesting in a few years, I guess.

Because it is the only place without dementia?
Filed Under: "warped" is relative afaict

I'm pretty sure the outsourced code will break my fragile mind into a billion pieces first.
Nested try catches for ClassCastExceptions are pretty special.

Like flying cars and fusion power plants, it's always 10-20 years away.

Plaid's alright. Things only start getting rough once it goes to corduroy.

Well, once you start discovering it anew each day, it sure will for you...

And steam turbines, internal combustion engines, the aeroplane...

It took us 10 posts to Godwin the thread? 10?
Disappoint. I expected it at 7, at the latest.

Can we go back to Community Server just so I can use my signature guy hack which changes people's avatars to Hitler? That was fun.
-
No engineer has ever thought that flying cars were a good idea or tried to make them, that's exclusively a hollywood thing.
-
OMG WHAT DID YOU DO.
IT'S NOT FUNNY, REVERSE IT NOW!
Edit: OK, I see it's been reversed.

Use a user script if that really grabs your jollies all that much. I just don't want such stupidity in my reading of the site. (Signature guy hacks were one of the worst things about CS. Along with the implementation of tags.)

Along with the implementation of tags.
What was wrong with them?
Filed under: Do you?, don't see a problem, I really, with them.

Paul Moller is an engineer. I assume the Terrafugia people have an engineer or two somewhere in their company.
It is the rest of us who realize it is a stupid idea.
-
Flying cars remind me of something...
What if we had video games rendered on a server so we wouldn't need to spend as much on hardware at home?
-

What, you mean allowing people to drive pretty much wherever the fuck they want, probably at speeds vastly exceeding those currently possible on land, isn't a good idea? What could possibly go wrong? Flying is safer than any other form of travel, after all!

Speaking of humour and Hitlers, this movie is being a hit in Germany

I thought laughing about the Nazis was an instant Erschießung in Germany?
Also, I like the style of that chick with the PC. If she only didn't speak German...

You could click the tags!?

sigh Pretty much the only good thing you can say about Dicksores is that it isn't Communist Servitude.

What an age we live in!

There's something in the Discopedia or some other related thread, but naturally Discosearch takes me to my recent post in this thread instead of our old Signature Guy explanation and gallery...

signature guy hack
Signature Guy was a CSS hack that broke out of the signature box to float something on top of the post directly below yours.
-
Found it:
https://what.thedailywtf.com/t/wiki-memes/917
Buried in the first post. It includes a screenshot of my cornified Meme Vader hack along with some links on old Signature Guy discussion.
-
I agree with whatever @mott555 just said.
-
Ah yeah, I remember. Signature Guy was malformed HTML that resulted in a fake "post" that appeared directly after all of your own posts.
You could also float stuff over the (real) post under yours, IIRC there was at least one person who employed a "I agree with what ___ said" hack.

@MorbiusWilters had one like that. I stole it and changed it to overlay a fake avatar over the next guy. Originally it was Hitler, later on I changed it to President Skroob to be less controversial. @PJH also had the speech bubble thing.

Yeah, I think it was "I agree with what Morbs said".
