You've had more that you should, but I'm going to let you dig your hole deeper until you get devine inspiration as to why You Are Doing It Wrong™

Took me a while to figure out why I could not "post" this. No Alarms, warnings or anything. Only the "no Entry" cursor when I hovered over the "button", which was greyed out, so I "knew" something was wrong. But NOT WHAT!
-
Character limit. You're 35 over.
No, I have NFC why there is a limit.

Nope, still makes no sense...
to protected mods from having to
read to muchdo their jobs.Aaaah! Ok, that clears it up!

Yes, I figured that out when I noticed that the numbers started to increase - but that came later.
My initial reaction when I couldn't post was "It's not working", and I have no real explanation as to why that should be my initial thought! Other than to say "It's Discourse", thereby establishing my overall "trust" and confidence level in the product.
So I cleared the text and entered a single CRLF. Emboldened by the success of that I restored the text and added a couple of CRLF for good measure (as, on occasion you have to do this to let Discourse "know" you have entered some text). That' when I noticed the count was increasing.
I will admit to the minor in not noticing that the Button had greyed out, but without any additional prompt it is sometimes a little difficult to differentiate between GREY_SHADE_50 and GREY_SHADE_49
My aside, I would class this as a MAJOR_USER_ANNOYANCE
-
Testing ™
POST_TEST: Pass
TITLE_TEST: Fail
-
MAJOR_USER_ANNOYANCE
Should be ok as long as it isn't a GENERAL_USER_ANNOYANCE if it gets up to that level we're screwed

The funny thing is that once you click the Message button, you should be able to find the message in your profile, where you can then add the extra text up to the normal post limit (was that 32,000 or 38,000?).
So there really is NFR for the 500 character limit.

you know the really funny thing?
even though it's a
privateMessage that you created and discours claims you are tracking it, YOU WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED OF THE RESOLUTION OF YOUR FLAG.if a mod clicks "agree", "Disagree", or "defer", it generates a message in the thread and does not notify you. you only get notified if they post a separate message.
or at least that was the behavior back when i thought flags were worth the effort. for all i know with all the bikeshedding casting a flag and having a mod action applied to it causes your computer to grow an arm and slap you in the face.
i wouldn't put that past Discourse....

More precisely, the green bubble appears, but only in your profile, not... wherever green bubbles are these week.

you mean the one that takes so long to load for me that i end up getting redirected to
/404
more often than not. that profile?seriously, why does it take my profile so long to render that discourse gives up on waiting for it? and why do i get redirected to
/404
anyway?!

Do you really want us to spell it out?
Hint: it starts with
D
.

Wait, how do you spell Whoosh Badges starting with a D?
I guess that's a serious @accalia

I like the fact that it says "-35 remaining".
Not "
<span style='color: red;'>35 over</span>
", or even "<span style='color: red;'>over character limit</span>
"

I guess that's a serious @accalia
Are you implying that any other @accalia is not serious?

Is this new behaviour? I seem to remember getting green bubbles all over the place for my very flagging.

It might not be intended behaviour, but it seems pretty consistent. Whether it's consistently working or consistently broken, that I do not know.

They prefer

Thats some serious popcorn you got there!
