Let's do the Window style ourseves, what could go wrong?

After upgrading to Windows 10, TortoiseSVN looks terrible.
Why not let the OS handle this? This is what the title bar looks like now:

You are blaming the OS for something the application is doing wrong?
-
No - just taking cheap pot-shots at Windows 10 :) Everyone else seems to be at the moment.
What exactly is wrong with it btw? I can see it's not right, but don't know why; what assumptions are Tortoise making that W10 has trodden all over?

Might be related to their manually drawing the Aero transparency all fucking over the place for no reason.

Whatever floats your boat. I never really understood why people do this.

They are making assumptions about what the native Windows title bar looks like and styling over top of it.

From what I understand, you've been able to override the titlebar painting routine to do your own work since the very early days. It was defined in the documentation, meaning Windows 10 shouldn't step all over it. So (making a serious assumption here) TRWTF is software still doing basic window drawing in stupid ways in 2015

TortoiseSVN has done a terrible job of re-implementing the stock Windows look-and-feel for as long as I can remember. Nothing new here.
