So... is the title supposed to be "shortcomings in digital assistant AI"? Because thats what I take from that picture.
The article is about Microsoft porting stuff on Android which makes sense IMO if you look at the market share that Android-phones have. So... Advancements in digital assistant AI?

Does anyone actually use these in real life? The whole concept just screams 'novelty'.
I've also never gotten any kind of speech recognition to work reliably enough for it to actually be usable, and that's at home, never mind how much worse it will get if you'd try it in traffic where it's loud.

I spent like 30 seconds on it, total.

In the same way it is quicker to scribble out a note than type one up. It is quicker to actually make a note in your calendar, than ask Cortana to do so, even when you hit all the green lights, voice recognition wise.
