Category Logo max-height not on Mobile CSS

Picture says it all.

Also, a pretty big annoyance, they removed the "Mobile View" option on the hamburger menu if they believe you're on a desktop, an iPad, or an Android tablet (per @abarker).
-
Well of course. Dicsourse knows better than you.
Plus, it isn't just on iPad. Same effect on my Android tablet.

Same effect on my Android tablet
I assumed as much, but I didn't have one handy to test.

I'll sort it.

Hmm - I mean to file that one, but never got round to it..

I'm going to bet the reply will be BYDESIGN WONTFIX, because I'm sure I saw them (at least Jeff) mentioning taking that capability away for "desktops" awhile ago.
-
Wait, how does the category icon show up above the "Latest, New, etc." list? Ah, the menus and the "create topic" button are floating, and since the icon is small enough, it gets lumped inline. Quality.
It's better than it was before, but Discourse's crazy default styling makes it look a bit silly still.
-
Judging from the replies, and the recategorisation of the 'bug', it looks that way.

The funniest joke of the thread?
@sam said:
It was removed on desktop to make room for keyboard shortcuts
To make room? Even at less than 800x600 (assuming browser full screened on an 800x600 monitor) there's plenty of room for quite a few more menu items, as well as a lot of categories. Proof (viewport is 790 x 558):
Also, his workaround of just "adding ?mobile_view=1 to get it" works, except the menu item to go back to Desktop View is also missing, and there's no "Keyboard Shortcuts" option. You have to use the workaround to go back and forth.

Based on previous comments made by the CDCK team, and Sam's current comments on the matter, it appears that they are doing some sort of detection to determine if you have a keyboard or not, and that is what determines whether you get the Keyboard Shortcuts option, or the Desktop/Mobile View option.
Seems like a solution looking for a problem.

Isn't that TCotCDCK's basic focus and direction?

I believe so, though the way they present it is "Design for the next 10 years." Same thing.

That "makes sense." It's a great way to confuse your users and make them try to figure out WTF you're doing. Instead of just showing everyone the same thing, leaving a simpler and more robust system and users free to wonder about other WTFs in your system.

IOW, time horizon for meaningful bug fixes (as opposed to crapping out another XML-parsing regexp): 10 years.

:s/<.*>/apt-get install libxml2-dev/g
There, solved that for them, can we move on now?

leaving ... users free to wonder about other WTFs in your system.
Maybe that's the goal: Keep users focused on the obvious UI WTFs so they don't notice the huge monsters of WTF lurking below the surface.
