Message posting warning message really needs better context
-
- Post a reply to a thread
- Go to post another reply to the same thread BUT DONT POST IT
- Now "collapse" the create a post bar thingy whatever the fuck you call this garbage box that popsup.
- Now go to edit your first post.
You now get an "Do you want to abandon your post" message that is completely out of context and sounds like you are removing the existing one.
The bug here is this magical popup/slideup WHATEVER THE FUCK BOX remains collapsed instead of poping open AND THEN GIVING ME THE MESSAGE IN CONTEXT.

Yep, I feel like they must have Ulrich Drepper working for them in disguise after being kicked off glibc.

Worse: they have Jeff "codinghorror" "I am a fucking GOD" Atwood.

Reminds me of one of my first posts:
TDTWF is now powered by the corpse of Steve Krug spinning in his grave since terminated his process after seeing Discourse. Everything in "Don't Make Me Think" seems to be violated in Discourse. With StackExchange and Discourse, I've noticed that every single minor task makes you think, it's not done in a predictable manner, and it slows you down.
Which highlights why Discourse isn't for us. Right now, we're in Jeff's chemistry lab. He's trying new things, reinventing processes that have solutions that are time-tested and nearly perfect, but not quite there. Building everything from the ground up. We are the guinea pigs in his experiments, and this one (scrolling) has blown up in our faces.

You forgot "Everyone else Does It Wrong"

Maybe his goal in life is to become the next Steve Jobs but of forum software. He'll build a cult like following of his [s]futurific[/s] rehashed crap and features that weren't implemented by others for good reason. There will be Discourse developer conference where he gets to wear a turtleneck and pout around stage. Be amazed as no longer do you scroll in Discourse 11.0! The entire topic contents is now condensed into JUST ONE POST in 1pt font. This is the future of forums people.
-
JUST ONE POST in 1pt font
would easily sum up the Likes Topic....
We all post shit and it all gets liked by all

If you read Jeff's blog, he basically IS the Steve Jobs of forum software. In his own mind at least.
No, if you want to call someone the Steve Jobs of forum software, I'd suggest Kier Darby.

I guess that would make @sam Steve Wozniak?

@sam needs a beard transplant to be Woz.
