Hacker attacks in real time for fun and profit

I found this link that displays in real time attacks from country >> target country.
The U.S. is being bombarded by China. The U.S. just attacked Australia? Why did we do that? Iceland! Turn off your robots!
Holy geez a mega-SIP attack on the U.S. hold on everyone! Those dirty Hong Kong peoples. Get Wells Fargo on the phone. I need to make sure my $112.23 is still FICA insured.
HTTP, SSL, TelNet, you name it it is being exploited...

Interesting.
Is this real data? How do they know what's being attacked?

From a brief reading of the info bit of the website, by monitoring darknets. How the data is collected and analysed is anyone's guess.
Damn. All the hackers must be asleep. Wish I was...

If you click on the
i
it says it's data from a bunch of honeypots. So it's probably real data about fake systems being attacked by real attackers.

Oh, so it's just a statistical simulation? Like, if your server is under DDoS, you can't go to this site and watch it happen in real time. Sucks magic isn't real.

Possibly more than that. Can't say without more information.

Probably more to do with how javascript is being rendered, and chrome just having a faster parsing engine.

Or passive aggressive way to deride people for using IE.
