HTML Title error from WTFU

  • <HEAD>
    <TITLE><P CLASS="rtitre1">Horaire du cours :</P><P CLASS="rtitredepage"><A href="/regis/pkg_wpub.affiche_cours_desc?P_sigle=INM6000" TARGET="mainFrame">INM6000</A> INFORMATIQUE ET SOCIETE</P></TITLE>
    <LINK REL="stylesheet" href="http://www.regis.uqam.ca/style.css" TYPE="text/css">
    </HEAD>

    They don't use a Doctype or anything but the most amusing thing in all is the fact that they put HTML tags inside the TITLE tag.

    PS : I just don't get this forum software ...

  • Someone will have to commit seppuku over this...

  • a hyperlink in the title?  do they expect someone to click on the title bar like a link?

  •  They're French, so they probably just wanted to do it to be different than everyone else.

    Welcome to Community Server.  Get used to it.  Seriously, though, what is your problem?  Maybe somebody can help out.

    As I recall, older versions of Internet Explorer would render HTML in the title.

  • That particular page is probably part of some old (as in at least 8-9 years old) school management system, which could explain the questionable methods used there. The home page for the admissions office which is linked in the snippet looks well made, however. Also, that university is so deep in debt that it wouldn't be surprising that the whole system was made on the cheap. Some schools in the area also encourage blatant disregard for standards (like the college web design course I took two years back, but that's another wtf altogether), so maybe some of that influence is there too.
